Cornyn actively works against the Republican Party. He supports conservative initiatives when it's clear they will pass so he can brag about how well he is supporting Texas interests. But he is not a friend of conservatives. Even if Paxton loses, and I don't believe he will, it was worth the risk and time to get Cornyn out

This is exactly what the Republican Party has been doing to Texas voters with Cornyn for decades, and they would have done it again this election as well if he hadn't finally drawn a worthy opponent.

It has nothing to do with "right wing". Hell, if Cornyn was even in the neighborhood of true conservative he probably wins the nomination.

On a scale of 1-10, I'll give you Paxton being at or near a 10. Cornyn is a 6-7 AT BEST and only because he throws in a couple of votes for things he knows are going to pass despite what he'd rather do. In reality he's closer to a 5. This is what a lot of people fail to realize. They just assume oh he's a Republican from Texas. He must be fighting for my conservative beliefs.

He's trolling. He's claimed to be a "Reagan Republican" but is all on board with Talarico. A politician Reagan would absolutely loathe.

Then why do the polls not agree with that? A republican with a clean record would win, but Paxton has a really dirty record in public office, and many people are not happy with his 15 homes, crimes, and other scandals he has gotten himself into.

There are some great quotes from Ronald Reagan about socialism. James talarco and some of candidates around the country today's democrats are putting up would make Reagan roll over in his grave.

What I'm saying is he's running against by far the weakest of the candidates and if he wins it'll be an own goal of epic proportions
