you made one incorrect statement-

the Islamic Republic has been waging war against the USA for 47 years.

Iran and the US have been in a cold war / warm war for 47 years. A cold war / warm war is not a hot war. This is a hot war, and it probably will escalate and get a lot hotter.

They have been killing Americans all over the middle east for decades. We just finally decided to return the favor.

the strategy SHOULD be this

1) announce to the American public that US military forces are attacking various important critical nodes in the Islamic Republic

2) this operation will conclude in 72 hours

3) negotiations for obtaining the Uranium will begin after 72 hours

4) if there is no progress on negotiations, we reserve the right to begin another 72 hour campaign in the future

Um no, Trump needs to just go all in and dismantle them. Destroy their Infrastructure. 72 hours? WEAK and why?

It is beyond time to resume full on attack

Trump looks like a fool the longer this "cease fire" goes on.

Trump does not look like a fool. He looks responsible and presidential in how he has approached.

Foolish would be carpet bombing Iran or sending in 150,000 ground troops.

Iran stops negotiations with U.S., vows to 'completely' block Strait of Hormuz: State media
Published Mon, Jun 1 20269:33 AM EDTUpdated 13 Min Ago

Iranian negotiators will stop exchanging messages with the U.S. through intermediaries in retaliation for ongoing ceasefire violations, Iran's state-affiliated news outlet Tasnim said.

Tehran will also move to fully block the Strait of Hormuz, Tasnim reported.

Oil prices leapt more than 5% higher following Tasnim's report.

Iirc, I believe that Oman and the UAE are just over 50% completion of a new and very large pipeline that circumvents the SOH and will drastically remove the need for the SOH except to Iran. I read that article a few weeks ago and if it was correct then they are probably over 60% complete at this time. Perhaps this is the reason for Trump accepting Iran's delay tactics. It's the only thing that makes sense really. I doubt the UAE and Oman have to deal with environmental studies, liberal federal judges and ideological inspectors and are just laying pipe. If so, I wouldn't be surprised if our O&G companies aren't being used in the construction either.

You're very in tune with what's happening on the ground in that region and I'm interested to know if you've heard anything similar to what I posted. TIA.

Staff: Please leave this up because if it's accurate then it will have a dramatic impact on our military action in Iran and we will protect that pipeline aggressively.

Jmho:

The U.S. blockade and sanctions and bombing are the equivalent of an army doing a siege of a walled city: surround 'em and starve 'em and barrage the city with cannonballs till they surrender. Effective if we have time on our side. But due to the SoH, time is a factor limiting how long we can sit back and wait.

"Putting tens of thousands of boots on the ground if necessary" means we are fully committed to using war to achieve our key objectives. It means we're so committed to preventing Iran from building nuclear weapons, we're willing to insert ground troops and accept the loss of lives of U.S. soldiers in order to achieve that objective.

The Iranian regime clearly believes we're not that committed. If they're correct, then we will have won some tactical victories but likely will not achieve our top objectives.

Maybe my analysis is incorrect. The Ukrainians have shown ground warfare is changing due to drones. Maybe we can reopen the SoH without deploying ground troops. Maybe we can force the Iranian regime to give us their nuclear material without using ground troops. I don't see how it is possible, but if we can do that, let's do it.

The only thing the Islamic regime understands is the massive use of force. We need to unleash the Israelis and let them go after any and all leadership with no restrictions or limitations, and we need to start taking out infrastructure until whoever ends up in control surrenders with no conditions. Bait their swift boats and drones into the SOH and take them out as well as any launch sites.

Just like Germany and Japan, Iran can be rebuilt, but it needs to be on our terms.

Also Trump needs to stop listening to other Countries. At his point why are we even listening to Pakistan? They are in it for Iran, at this point if Trump does not see that he is a fool

Every time we are about to go back in, here comes Pakistan begging not to proceed and that they "supposedly" have a new offer out of no where from Iran. At this point I think they are not even getting proposals from Iran, they are just saying it to delay.

Cannot stand Pakistan.

Another thing, we should stop holding back Israel, let them kick Hezbollah's ass

I agree that we shouldn't trust Pakistan either. What worries me is that what if Pakistan sells, or has sold, Iran a few of their nukes? I hope our intelligence agencies are watching them very closely. I believe the IRGC would definitely go out with a bang and use those nukes when they know their time is coming to an end. I hope I'm very very wrong.

Iran is begging trump to bomb their infrastructure. They want him to do that very badly. The IRGC don't care if their people suffer. They have all the money, power, and weapons. Their position is secure no matter the situation now.

What bombing Iran will do though is give them an excuse to throw absolutely everything at UAE, Kuwait, Oman, and others to ruin their oil industry. It would only take maybe 5% of their munitions hitting their targets to send the world energy market in a tailspin. Then they will have the gulf countries mad at the US, they will have secured a democratic takeover in congress to put pressure on Trump to give them what they want, and they'll be able to continue to secure their place as chief actor in the region.

Trump's best course of action is the one he is on, blockade them to make them run out of money. The only thing he needs to do is to shut up and stop making it easy for the Iranians to make him look like he doesn't know anything and isn't in control.

no doubt the Emiratis are trying to build those pipelines to Fujairah as fast as they can

supposedly it will take them a few more months to finish everything

it could be Trump is just waiting until after the midterms and then he will drop the hammer

Maybe, but in that situation we aren't the ones who kicked things off again and escalated to the max, they were.

The court of public opinion will be on Trump's side massively, and as long as we defend the gulf countries, they won't be mad at him either. When you fight in defense it's a much easier ball game

Isn't a pipeline vulnerable to drone attack? There are valve risers and pump stations along the way. Plus that pipe is only buried a few feet. Surly Iran could use drones to hit the route and damage the pipe a few feet below grade.

Hezbollah is a threat to Israel much more than it is to the US. You can say the same for Iran, but that is much more the case when it comes to Hezbollah.

Israel has gotten pretty much everything it wants from this war and series of wars, so if their incursion into Lebanon is at all a barrier to us getting the terms we want to extricate ourselves from Iran, then Israel needs to back off.

The question is whether Iran is using the Israeli incursion as merely a pretext for stalling negotiations, but one way to be sure is to remove the pretext and see where things go. Israel can always go back in on its own when we aren't all tied up in this crap.

They've been trying but their attempts have been shot down. It makes me think that we have that pipeline very well protected because it's in our interest, and more so the global economy that it removes Iran's ability to hurt global economies.

I don't think he's making it up but I do think there's a significant chance he's being played. Iran knows Americans don't have the stomach for this in the longterm. Just have to hold out until the media convinces the American public and/or the next election cycle.
