Hoping we can get the second guy out. Unfortunately that's best done as soon as possible. After time goes by it gets a lot tougher both to find him before they do, and for the CSAR going into a hornets nest.

Just put boots on the ground and get it over with. This isn't going to stop if we just keep it an air war.
With what boots though? We have a single MEU on station. While I am biased and truly believe a MEU/SOC is the most capable and deadly complete fighting unit this world has even known, it is relatively tiny. A reinforced one is approx. 2500-3500 people with attachments. Only about 550ish will be actual trigger pullers though. The 82nd deployed earlier are in the same boat. Few actual fighters compared to the already limited numbers sent.
We could take an island or two with those. What then? Doubt Iran will capitulate from that. Deploying more troops will take significant time and virtually guarantee a political massacre for the midterms and Trump's admin in general. If we land on the mainland and trigger a "rally to the flag" mentality in Iran, it's basically game over at that point IMO. I don't think even Trump is going to want to do a prolonged ground engagement in Iran. ****, I hope not at least.

I'm still disappointed the Iranian uprising failed to materialize. I'm sure this has been a bitter disappointment to the admin. The American Iranian community here sure talked up a tough game when this all started and they have simply vanished from the scene as far as I can tell.

I have to question how this ends without boots on the ground. America came knocking but couldn't break down the door. Anything short of regime change really just emboldens them at this point, and I'm not sure how that happens any other way.
