I'm sure there are some that want to help, and there's a reward involved if they do but more serious consequences from the regime.

Hoping we can get the second guy out. Unfortunately that's best done as soon as possible. After time goes by it gets a lot tougher both to find him before they do, and for the CSAR going into a hornets nest.

When was the last time we sent missions in with an Acceptable Level of Risk of Extreme?

Trump says a lot of things doesn't he.

Would sure be nice to know which ones are true.

Might need to restart the production line for the P51. Seem like these Shahed drones would be easy picking for them and a lot cheaper than an air to air missile. Kind of a joke but maybe developing some slower aircraft that could slow down to match the drones speed and take them out would actually be effective?

I'm by no means a conspiracy theorist, but I almost wonder if the 2nd F-15 pilot has already been found and removed safely by US forces, but they're keeping a lid on it so it continues to draw enemy combatants out searching for him/her. Just waiting to see how many moles they can get to pop their heads out before just wiping them all out.

It seems like something Trump would do because the man is notorious at distraction to achieve a goal of his.

I'm still disappointed the Iranian uprising failed to materialize. I'm sure this has been a bitter disappointment to the admin. The American Iranian community here sure talked up a tough game when this all started and they have simply vanished from the scene as far as I can tell.

By leaving the lights on, life was not miserable enough for a general uprising.

All power generation should've been taken out at the start.

Can we really expect unarmed civilians to revolt against the heavily armed and fanatical people in charge?

It's just not realistic.

Just put boots on the ground and get it over with. This isn't going to stop if we just keep it an air war.

With what boots though? We have a single MEU on station. While I am biased and truly believe a MEU/SOC is the most capable and deadly complete fighting unit this world has even known, it is relatively tiny. A reinforced one is approx. 2500-3500 people with attachments. Only about 550ish will be actual trigger pullers though. The 82nd deployed earlier are in the same boat. Few actual fighters compared to the already limited numbers sent.

We could take an island or two with those. What then? Doubt Iran will capitulate from that. Deploying more troops will take significant time and virtually guarantee a political massacre for the midterms and Trump's admin in general. If we land on the mainland and trigger a "rally to the flag" mentality in Iran, it's basically game over at that point IMO. I don't think even Trump is going to want to do a prolonged ground engagement in Iran. ****, I hope not at least.

we absolutely should NOT be landing troops anywhere other than potentially the TUMB ISLANDS which we should use Gulf Arab forces along with us to retake them and assert sovereignty

what we should be doing is shipping in tens of thousands of AK47 into Iran- something I have been stating for THREE MONTHS now.

Citizens without guns vs the army that has guns.

I think even a blind man can see what happens in that situation every day of the week and twice on Sunday Bloody Sunday.

I have to question how this ends without boots on the ground. America came knocking but couldn't break down the door. Anything short of regime change really just emboldens them at this point, and I'm not sure how that happens any other way.

We didn't invade Iraq and get rid of Saddam Hussein in 1991

we have a better shot at overthrowing the Islamic Republic from the inside using covert means than we did at getting rid of the Baathists in Iraq

Remember: we told them to stay off the streets and out of harm's way until we were done.

So originally Trump told the anti-regime Iranians to hangs tight on the revolt until we had degraded the IRGC and other forces, at which time he would send messaging to go for it. I don't recall hearing about any messaging from him since then telling them to begin fighting. He must be waiting until there is more assurance that suck a revolt would be successful, based on intelligence and advice he is receiving? Who knows what forces we have in country working behind the scenes to set them up for success.

Unless they're left to stay the same way of governing as they were before the war began. If that happens, there's no reason Iran can't get help from their buddy Putin, who I read somewhere that is helping Iran as much as he can since they started getting attacked, or from Xi.

So, it will be hard, but very doable, and that's the problem.

Iran needs a complete reset, not just a "Okay, the #18th guy from the top is now in charge, so now it's a regime change and a whole new Iran." Otherwise, all we did was line the pockets of the Military Industrial Complex and every global company who will also have their pockets lined from Iran rebuilding itself right back to where it was.

The citizens of Iran were told to stay indoors at the start of the war. Non-combatants marching in the streets kinda hinders a bombing campaign.

There is no uprising because we dont want one at this moment.

There were some unconfirmed reports of Iranian citizens in some cities pulling Iraqi militia members out of cars and beating the crap out of them.

These are the militia thugs Iran brought into the country in January to quell the unrest. They went back to Iraq and have now been invited back in by the regime.

So they got a brand new system and operationalized it? What is this a video game?

Also Russia is having problems producing these systems, seriously doubt they were able to ship one to Iran. Bunch of crock .
