Ugh that's depressing. His presidency is flying by. Just not near enough time to try to pull of out of the morass the dems have created.

It is called graft. Nancy has dirt on all other democrats. Where do you think Hillary learned the craft?

I'd be very happy with a JD or Marco at the top of the ticket in 2028 for the GOP. But I think Rubio is the better pick right now. He's got amazing crossover and independents have really grown to like him. He's pointed and direct. He makes his point very validly, but without the added jargon of Trump.

Not to be negative Nancy but if the midterms go blue then this administration effectively ends in 9 months. Super important this year that not happen.

I am 100% sure Nancy had two ways of keeping everyone in line in her caucus. They pull a rep into a private room. They either show them all the dirt they have on them that they are willing to release to the public or they show them the person they are going to run against them in the next primary with zero support from the national party. The primary person may be Michelle Obama is going to move to your district just to run against you.

They walk and do exactly what Nancy wants.

I agree. I have always said that the Democrats are better at making sure everyone falls in line for their agenda, while Republicans let the chickens run loose when they have majorities.

I stand by my previous assertions that Republicans would rather complain than lead.

Not really, he is for sure losing the house this year and possibly the senate. So his last two years will be stonewalled by the dems.

They do confirm judges, justices, and cabinet members. That's where the real danger lies with a Democrat Senate. If the Senate goes Democrat, we could be looking at 10 or more years without any real conservative confirmations, if the Democrats win in 2028. Squishy moderates that rarely side with conservatives at best.

I'm just jealous at the fact that a "lesser" country does something better than we do.

Well, this and create women infinitely hotter than the pasty ones we have here.

And beer.

And they've got tequila.

I'll stop before it gets really depressing.

And yet here we are because of a group of RINOs in the Senate. It is infuriating.

If I were Trump, I would tell them good luck. I won't sign another piece of legislation until this passes and is signed. If you can't pass something this rational and sensible, with such widespread support, you might as well blow the whole thing up.

I believe he has already said that. Certainly the House had said they're not moving on any Senate bills and they will be attaching this to all must-pass bills going forward.

House Freedom Caucus:
"Senate Republicans refused to force a talking filibuster to pass the SAVE America Act because it would have allowed Democrats to offer unlimited amendments.

Now, Senate R's claim they will pass SAVE America Act via reconciliation (which may not even be possible under the Senate's arcane rules), which would…

*checks notes*

…allow Democrats to offer unlimited amendments.

This is gaslighting. The American people are not stupid and will not accept more failure theater from Republicans in Congress.

PASS THE SAVE AMERICA ACT NOW."

Sounds like republicans in congress are going to fold and offer up a bill to pay for everything but the enforcement arm of ice, then attempt to pass that funding separately.

Dems were gloating this morning already that they had already won- they got noem fired, ice out of Minneapolis and are well onto he way to defunding what they consider to be the problem.

You'd never know that republicans hold the house, senate, white house, judiciary and more than half the states

When you account for folks like Murkowski, McConnell, Tillis, Massie, etc. that would rather work with democrats than republicans, we really don't control either.

This is why it's so important that we vote out the useless, incumbent republicans every chance we get, in the primaries. It's really the only power we have. You can't fix the idiots that vote for democrats, but we can try to at least fix our own party.
Who?mikejones!

There's squishes and those who essentially caucus with Republicans even if they're really libertarian or living in their own world .

Dems have those as well but they always, always, get in line when it matters. Not so for Republicans.

Im old enough to remember beofre Obama care was passed and Nancy said we have to pass it to see what was in it. Thats such an absurd statement it doesnt seem real.

The only thing I remember Republicans doing that took balls was withholding Merrick garland from scotus.

Which is why we ratchet ever leftward. It's also why John Cornyn needs to be out on his ass.

Where are the Republicans demanding we fund DHS and ICE and demanding we pass the SAVE America Act? They should be in front of every TV camera in Washington 24/7.

Quote:

Here's how we know:

Reconciliation requires the Senate parliamentarian to rule that provisions are "budgetary." Citizenship verification is not budgetary. Photo ID mandates are not budgetary. The parliamentarian will gut the bill. Then you'll shrug and say "we tried." We see through you.

Meanwhile, you WON'T use the tools that actually work:

Rule XIX limits each senator to two speeches per legislative day. Keep the Senate in continuous session, file cloture daily, and the filibuster exhausts in ~12-20 days. You dismissed it as "complicated." Because if you tried and succeeded, you'd have to actually pass the bill.

Harry Reid nuked the filibuster in 2013 when he wanted results.

Mitch McConnell changed Senate rules THREE times and canceled the August recess.

Chuck Schumer used reconciliation within months on a 50-50 Senate.

You have 53 seats. You've changed nothing, canceled nothing, and waited eleven months.

Now let's talk donors:

Goldman Sachs: $150K to you - top H-1B user
Google: $75K - lobbies against E-Verify
Meta: $72.5K - Zuckerberg's FWD[.]us pushes mass immigration
Wells Fargo: $90K - banks undocumented immigrants

Same corporations sponsor Punchbowl News, where you sit for "Fly Out Days" which nobody watches except Congress staffers and K Street lobbyists who pays premium bucks for legislative intelligence. Their reporter then telegraphs to the audience the SAVE Act "will ultimately fail."

Corporate money flows to you AND to the outlet that frames your inaction as inevitable.

We see the loop.

You called grassroots anger a "paid influencer ecosystem." YOU are the paid influencer. You take the wrong side of a 80% issue because you are indistinguishable from a K Street mouthpiece, and an ineffective one to boot who won't bend the rules to get anything passed.

What we want:

1. Force a real talking filibuster.
2. Stop hiding behind process.
3. Pass the SAVE America Act.

YOU will become the reason that we will have our butts kicked in midterms. Not Candace Owens, not Nick Fuentes, not anyone else. You and you alone, and all because you want to make the 200 or so viewers of Punchbowl Fly Out Days happy. You're living in a K Street information bubble, addicted to the comforts and praises of lobbyists masquerading as journalists. You mistake the steak and martini dinners you get invited to as your own constituents.

You are not "moderate." The SAVE America Act has 98% support among Republicans. Name one other thing that has 98% support. You are an extreme minority who prides himself on being a calm leader, when in reality you are well in the running for the most ineffective Majority leader of all time.

Prove me wrong. Do the bare modicum of effort. Not symbolic. Actual effort. Cancel the recess. Get SAVE America Act passed.
