Talarico has three problems that are insurmountable for a dem politician:

1. He is white.
2. He is male.
3. He is trying to position himself as a centrist.

You can overcome the first two and win a democratic primary in today's political world if you are the candidate farthest to the left of the field. With Crockett in the field as a black woman and the farthest left, he might as well drop out now.

MAGA is not far right.

Crockett is an elected US HoR, correct? She literally was voted on and elected to represent a constituency. She gets media coverage because can vote and make policy.

Fuentes could be any no-name podcaster without a single ssubscriber.

We should have some awareness of the 435 US HoRs.

It was a little interesting last night to read a FB post asking for money from Talarico in the wake of the Crockett announcement and the need to win the primary against her, and then reading the comments. Many people were saying "I wish I could vote for you both." Or, "you should now run for governor instead." Or, "I was going to send money to you now, but I regret to say that I will now be supporting Crockett." Who knows if these are actually real people or bots or disinformation actors.

A well-fought well-executed primary can make a candidate stronger. However will Talarico now have to hew left in order to win the primary? Or can a more centrist candidate win? The GOP has the same dilemma. Vote for far-right MAGA tainted Paxton, or "moderate MAGA" Cornyn?

My support for Democrats doesn't come from a place of "I love Democrats." It comes from the place of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." I.e. anti-MAGA.

I will definitely be supporting Talarico.

Democrats through their own policy and actions are the definition of authoritarian, wildly corrupt, pro-command economy in all things, and run their elections through a DNC which is effectively an oligarchy of a few people who pick the POTUS.

So your answer to fight these issues is to vote for the party who wraps itself in these very issues as a matter of their core policy plank.

First, could you define a conservative, seems different people have different definitions. Me personally, a conservative's first allegiance is to the Constitution as our Founding Fathers defined.

I think he's been aTalrico supporter from the start because he thought Democrats could sell the Talrico is a centrist BS. Now that Crockett is in the race, she has a leg up and he knows the centrist dog won't hunt with her so he's pumping up Talrico as much as he can. He knows with Crockett as the Democrat candidate that the Democrats are all but guaranteeing another Republican victory.

I scan Drudge for headlines. CNN website. NYTimes website (have subscription). I occasionally check out Dallas Morning News. Whatever comes up on my FB feed (and the algorithm feeds me a lot of anti-MAGA stuff, as you can imagine). I don't watch very much cable news at all. A tiny bit of CNN. Radio, occasional NPR when the Ticket goes to commercial or is boring. For a short time I listened to BBC podcast. I have a free subscription to WSJ, but I don't go there much at all, unless an aggregator like Drudge links to there.
