Because a significant chunk of American prosperity relies on a stable Europe.

And yes, we go to war to defend our standard of living. Just the way of things of the past 50 years, love it or hate it.

I wonder if they just don't have the personnel to determine where these are coming from. Maybe the airborne radar will have better luck.

How was going to war with Iraq defending our standard of living, How was going to war in Vietnam defending our standard of living. Europe has been a mess since the days of Caesar. We are worried about Russia, while Muslims are invaded European countries, we are worried about the boogie man in Moscow.

Call me a Russian bot for all I care. I see what's really happening in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, Sweden. Russia is the least of Europe's problem. Hell.... its happening in our own back yard. Just look at Dearborn Michigan.

But by all means keep beating the war drum.

Their anti drone capabilities have been exposed horribly which they have now know. That being said, they did report they tried to take one down (unknown method) tonight with no success. They also said they will not attempt takedowns unless over safe areas to do so. Which I guess we can't fault them for.

C'mere. I know a secret…

ADDRESSING THE RUSSIAN PROBLEM DOESN'T PRECLUDE YOU FROM ALSO ADDRESSING THE OTHER PROBLEM(S)! THEY'RE LOGICALLY DISTINCT ISSUES WHICH AN INDIVIDUAL CAN BELIEVE SHOULD BOTH BE MITIGATED!

Italy and Spain are sending the military to help Greta deliver aid to terrorist. Why aren't they helping defend NATO borders. Europe hasn't even tried to,defend themselves. We don't need this, war they can handle it

Where in the hell did everyone get this idea that everything is so f'ing binary these days??

How do you know that they are not helping defend NATO borders AND helping to safeguard aid convoys? I promise, you do not actually know off the top of your head. You are just assuming. For what reason, I have no idea. It tickles your world view I'm guessing. Like nations are not capable of doing two things at once is such a stretch of the imagination...

And for the record, Yes. Yes, they are helping on NATO's borders with both troops and command structure and logistics. Both nations. Have been for at least two years I know of. I know this because I actually pay attention to these things. Hell, Spain helmed one of the main battle groups last year.

To me, it looks like this is why we haven't and won't see much of a direct response from NATO. Even a small drone wave would wreck shop on military bases anywhere in Eastern Europe. Russia would ultimately lose a war, but these countries would take a major hit in the opening stages of a conflict.

I mean, look at this response from to the latest drones in Denmark:

Quote:

On Friday, Denmark will join several Nato allies and Ukraine to discuss the idea of erecting a "drone wall", proposed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, to protect the EU's eastern borders.

You think it's time to start planning a drone defense?! Meanwhile, Putin can leverage any response as an existential threat in his own country and buy some time against the upheaval caused by fuel shortages.

Then why haven't one European country shot down a single drone that has flown into any of these countries airspace?

They've tried, and failed so far when they felt it was safe to do so. I don't know what else to tell ya, bub. I don't speak for NATO and their capabilities and regulations in regards to civilians in harms way.

ETA: Unless you are referring to the Poland drone excursion earlier this month. In which case, NATO forces did in fact, engage and destroy some of those drones. Not all though. Which is another concern in itself but it does absolutely refute your assertion completely. Your ignorance on this topic is beyond telling. Why are you even trying? Most Aggies don't just make up **** just to make up *****

Yeah, it's not great. Pretty much the one thing every serious analyst has been fearing for years has come true. For differing reasons perhaps but the net result is the same.

And that is, the hardest lessons learned in blood and fire in Ukraine are not being implemented fast enough by NATO and even the US to a degree. Again, the reasons are probably many and intermingled but it is what it is currently.

The Ruskies have balls of stone. Think Stalingrad...You can't squeeze them hard enough to break them. The West isn't willing to pay the price it would take to beat them.

The Euros think they want to fight...Sounds like Trump is taking the smarter path: Stay out of the way and make money selling weapons.

Russia will break when we decide to break them.

Okay, then you go sign up with the military to fight them.
