It's going to take more than just a weekend of outrage to clean up the mess......

Roll up the sleeves and do some work like this guy.

There's a critical shortage of certified teachers as it is.

Just saying.

Better no teacher than a bad teacher.

After talking to my stepdaughter this weekend about her classes and teachers, they pretty much already have no teacher. I was blown away by how little the teachers actually do in classes these days. She's a sophomore in what is supposed to be a highly rated school district.

She said in PE, they're told to do whatever they want as long as they don't sit down. There's no organized activities. They have two "coaches" in the class and when I asked what they did during class time, she said they sit at their desks.

I asked about English, and she said they'll give them a reading prompt and tell them to "write something" about it. When I asked specifically what type of writing, like a summary, a critique, whatever....she said "they don't care. Just as long as it's xx number of lines."

Her elective is an unmanned aerial flight class. The first 5 minutes of the class they complete some sort of online "skills" test, and the rest of the class they play whatever video games they want.

The only class she likes is Chemistry because it actually challenges her.

It's insane to me that my low-performing, inner city highschool from 30 years ago was light years better than this affluent suburban "exemplary" school she's currently attending.

So yeah....burn the entire public education system to the ground and start over. I'm good with that.

No teaching causes the child to be left behind but they can catch up at some point given the right inputs.

A child with bad teachers are brainwashed, and it is close to impossible to undo it and they become a burden on society like welfare queens, murderers, professional activists, SJWs etc.

Yea she was pretty cool back in the day, always saw her out at Northgate, dance halls etc. She's a way different person now.

I would agree with that statement.

I would also say statements don't even need to be as vile yet could still result in an employer/vendor/supplier cutting ties.

Looks like the state will be moving to curtail free speech in universities as a result of those who expressed their dislike of Kirk. Legislative committees in house and senate were created and will be meeting.

Of course I guess it's possible that they will be protecting free speech. But I doubt it. Nothing indicates that they will do that. It looks like they will be moving against hate speech.

That used to be a leftist thing. Actually it still is. But the chairs have switched.

I believe they call it turnabout, and I hear its fair play

Let's not forget doxing too. The amount of pro-doxing among posters on Texags is pretty wild. They used to be against it.

This is essentially where I draw the line. If you are posting anonymously and have nothing on your profile denoting where you work. People should not be doxxing you.

But if you post under your name and your employer is listed on your profile. You are fair game. As an employer I would want to know if an employee was doing that and handle it appropriately.

Freedom is the will to be responsible for ourselves.

These miscreants doxed themselves and now should bear the responsibility. They have the right to free speech and now there are consequences.

Freedom of speech =/= freedom from consequence.

And when the pendulum swings again, don't complain. Fits with your principles.

Me, I happen to believe that what people say about politics and current events on their own is their own private business, esp when they work for a university that supposedly supports and endorses freedom of speech.

Getting fired over your politics - coming sooner and more often. Remember Jordan Peterson?

They are not getting fired over politics. They are getting fired over celebrating the murder, which under any context is aberrant behavior irrespective of any political views.

Is: "This political person deserves to be assassinated" a political position? Is it protected free speech?

What did Kirk say about the attack on Pelosi's husband and what did he say should be done about the attacker?

Ok.
You got us.

What is your point? He deserved to die?

Democrats demonized him, lied about him, quoted him out of context- because he was a Christian man who believed in Jesus and free speech. This is a man who encouraged dialog because "when dialog stops, violence occurs". This demonization resulted in his murder.

Read that again. Democrats leaders and everyday folks like you , lied about him and it resulted in his murder.

Where were you when the Democrats were demonizing him?? Show me some receipts?

Because otherwise you free speech act on this thread rings hollow.

Absolutely!

IANAL
It is protected free speech, but not sure there is a political position advocating the murder if an individual. I've read the Republican National Committee's and the Democratic Party National committee's political agendas & couldn't find the parts where they called for the murder of political opponents.
I doubt your saying these people can sue to regain their jobs.

For MAGA if you are opposed to the MAGA agenda, you are a terrible human. Kind of like Mitt Romney is a despicable human being.

Wrong on every level.
No conservatives are advocating censorship of these idiots. Also no conservatives advocating removal of the right of companies to fire employees that are for murdering people.
So the people disagreeing with you are indeed for

He doesn't get it. George was a career criminal with a rap sheet to go along with it. No one was jumping for joy when he died. In fact, the cop went too far and was arrested. There were no party's or celebrations on tik tok or Facebook or instagram. He's crawling far up his ass for this one.

So many of these idiots keep bringing up the second amendment and Charlie Kirk deserving his fate because he didn't support gun control. Do they realize that the gun used to kill Charlie Kirk was one that wouldn't be on any proposed gun ban list?

I think this is how it plays out.

Some liberals in their personal lives have made a song and dance about DEI and being anti Trump and Kirk. Now when the assassination happened, and if they remained silent, it would look like they were hypocrites and loved their jobs more than their "cause". So they are forced to open up and speak much against their better judgement. Some don't get caught many do. Then the ones that do go on twitter and complain about being fired.

It's not that they don't know, it's that they don't care.

They'd ban every gun if they could. And they think everyone who advocates for the 2A is fair game to die. They don't even particularly care if it's a gun, but they do enjoy being able to dunk on someone for the crime of supporting a position and being able to peripherally link it to their death.

Don't overthink it. They sure aren't.

Not to mention Timothy McVeigh almost leveled a building with a homemade bomb. Where there is a will, there is a way, and that is especially true in America.
