I would be shocked if there was anything past close in protection plans. So anyone who has a room temp IQ or better who has read or watched a little bit of survival/military tactics understands that having an escape plan (preferably more than one) is paramount and that preplanning is key. Which given the tour CK was on, easily done. Especially if you have more than one person helping. Honestly, I am of the opinion that you don't even need to be "smart". You just need to be methodical.

You may be right, but I'll pose another aspect....

Shooter was waaaay better than average. Your average deer hunter, with pulse and nervousness on a deer, would have a tough time at 200 yds to put a bullet on a dime like that. This one was good.

So, the shot takes place. A shooter would have less than 15 seconds to pack up and pile out before being seen, and 30 seconds after that to be on way out of area. However, there was a "distraction" of an old guy being arrested who was quoted "I don't want to talk" while being cuffed? Attention grabber. More time for shooter, whether it was intended or not.

Potentially: Trained hitter, promised many $$ and an escape vehicle/driver, but that escape ride was his last with the SSS policy carried out by the "payers" team, and the rifle finds its way to the bottom of the Pacific.

Kirk was THE MOST influential person in the country to the youth to get them to think for themselves, which is the devil to the leftist groupthink NPC required for the advancement of their agenda. Other than Trump, and maybe Elon, Kirk was the highest priority target to the Left.

This was done to eliminate Kirk for reasons stated above, but also to have universities, high schools, etc. rule out people like him speaking on their campuses because of "security concerns" (really to just cut off Kirks effectiveness should others step up), and to terrorize other Conservatives from gathering in mass to organize against the true haters of our Republic.

Too much credit is being given to the lunatic shooter IMO.

1. The shot wasn't 200 yards. Looks to be about 140 yards based on google earth measurements.
2. Odds are the shooter wasn't aiming for the neck and instead was either aiming for head or chest and the neck is where the bullet hit based on a host of different factors.
3. If you are going so far as to plan to assassinate somebody, especially in a public setting, I'm assuming you have enough upstairs to at least plan a rudimentary escape using what you know will be a huge amount of chaos and confusion as the crowd disperses as cover.

We really aren't talking about rocket science here. Average shot at best, not some sniper level shot that had to go through a loophole while accounting for the Coriolis effect or anything like that.

Assume crosshairs were on the chest, that's about a ~6" miss, which is about 3.5-4 MOA at 140 yards (give or take, not doing the actual math). About half of that can be chalked up to a miscalculation due to elevation drop from 50-ish feet above the target (bullet drops less as you have a downward angle due to gravity not having to work as hard - very few people account for this). The rest is the fact that the dude wasn't a hardened sniper professional black ops killer using a run of the mill gun with what appears to be a budget scope and likely budget ammo and you get enough error that the round meant for center of mass hit high in the neck.

I only watched the close up a few times and have seen a couple of screen grabs of a lifted shirt. I can only assume people are seeing shirt movement from the bullet passing and also impacting and coming to a bizarre assumption.

I paused the close up video and you can clearly see a nice round red hole. From the camera angle, it would be impossible for the entry to appear that way from a ricochet.

It's nonsense.

And agree, my peers are not the ones coming to absolutely bizarre conclusions when there are actually legitimate questions still outstanding on this.

I have watched Charlie Kirk almost every day for the last two years. NOT ONCE EVER did I see him in body armor.

As for shock waves. My unit tested body armor, on one test 5.56 on level III, no plate, on a hanger. The bullet smoked right through the vest, knocked the vest off the hanger, AND completely separated the outside cover of nylon over the capsulated Kevlar. You wouldn't believe it unless you saw it.

Are people seriously claiming this was a ricochet? The bullet obviously enters directly into the left side of his neck. The shirt moving is just due to the surrounding air displacement by the bullet. Moreover modern tactical vests are specifically designed to absorb the force of the bullet and NOT cause a ricochet. And there's no sign at all of his t shirt being damaged by a bullet.
