This is one of the great mysteries of police-citizen interactions. The left stokes most of this but it's such common sense you'd think it could overcome that brainwashing. Just do what they say, have a safe interaction, if wronged complain to their supervisor, or take it to court if criminal. It's that simple and the way the system was designed to work.

My dad sat my brother and I down separately before we got our drivers licenses and told us that. Whatever a cop tells you to do if he pulls you over, just do it. Don't argue if you think he is wrong, don't cuss at him. Just be polite and friendly and do what he asks. If he does something wrong, the time to take that up is with the judge or DA later on. You will not win an argument with a cop on the side of the street, so don't try. It can only end badly for you.

Amazing how many of the viral videos of interactions with cops occur because people never learned that lesson.

In the rarified, elitist leftist world of the upper legal ranks in the northeast, this is 'embarrassing' but not a fireable offense. The irony of her continuing to play a role in prosecuting folks who do assault law enforcement officers of the court etc. is not lost on…defense attorneys.

Your "drunk in public" comment reminded me of this classic:

I'll say this as a guy that was married to an alcoholic suburban white woman for 18 years. That whole interaction sent shivers down me from familiarity. I really think that when they get to that point nothing is registering in their brains. I can't count the number of times I had to plead with with different people and establishments over her behavior while trying to just get her out. Then she'd have absolutely no recollection of any of it the next day.

Another good reason to step back and reflect on who you date and marry. No matter how smart, no matter how pretty, no matter how rich.

The cop flat out said as he started to push/pull her away and took out his cuffs she was only being detained and not arrested. Then she escalated it and got herself arrested.
