Putin didn't invade during Trumps first term is because he was confident that Trump Manafort et al would eventually replace the Zelensky regime with a Russian leaning government like the one in Belarus

People tend to ignore what Manafort did prior to working for Trump

Imagine traveling back in time to 2021 after they orchestrated false testimony of Trump 'grabbing the wheel of The Beast', and then showing people this 2025 photo of Trump and Putin riding along together in The Beast.

How'd that work out for Putin when for FOUR YEARS he didn't do that?

Predictions on the narrative after Trump goes to Russia and we see a similar pageantry?

Flyover
Russian jets on the tarmac
Escorts (no pee-pee)
Riding in the Russian presidential limo
Cots for transient air-crew

All the stuff these ****birds are raging over now, why do we think it wouldn't be reciprocal?

This seems like progress.

That's how I take it…make no mistake…it's tenuous at best…but Trump at least seems to think he has enough data from all parties to broker a peace deal…

The next week or so will be interesting…

Yep. I suspect this will get done. But Trump will still get criticized ...

The left was already prepared to pillory him no matter what happened: he gets a ceasefire? He gave away Ukraine and rewarded Putin. He walks away with no ceasefire? Putin steamrolled him.

Convincing those with TDS and the media they lap up like sheep that perhaps incremental progress was made and to be patient while the process plays out is a fools errand.

I like how Trump gatekeeps the Russian business folks, merchants and bigwigs.

You want advanced chips and access to the American consumer? Talk to Ukraine and the EU and figure out a peace deal.

That Putin steamrolled him is BS. The Fox reporter used the wrong term. She should be called on the carpet for this. She had no idea what they talked about. We all do not know all the details. I don't know how she came up with that. Really stupid statement. She usually does a pretty good job, but that was just ****ing stupid.

Neither cankles nor cackles.

Let's assume for a minute that Hillary had won in 2016. Then again in 2020?

Anyone doubt Ukraine would be part of Russia before now? As long as Putin allowed the Ukrainian gravy train to keep going? I think so. Hillary was Sec of State in the lead up to Putin's taking Crimea. Yet State, after deposing Yanukovych and naming his successor, Poroshenko.

Eight years of Obama/Biden followed by eight years of Hillary? The world would be in even more of a shambles than it is now.

Trump forgot one very important point: Russia gets a vote too, for better or worse. If Trump thought he was going to be able to sweet-talk Putin into a quick deal, he's sadly mistaken.
Trump said they're very close to a deal, but it sounds like a deal that Ukraine will have to say not only no to, but hell no. And their body language gave it all away. There may have been some progress made, but anyone thinking this is over in the next six months is kidding themselves.

The Trump-Putin deal is for something much bigger and more strategic than Ukraine. Ukraine will get solved sooner or later, but the bigger joint enemy is globalism and the endless wars the globalists require to complete tgeir stranglehold on the world.

I hope.

Melania knows who can end all this.

Quote:

"Yet in today's world, some children are forced to carry a quiet laughter, untouched by the darkness around them a silent defiance against the forces that can potentially claim their future. Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter."

"In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone you serve humanity itself. Such a bold idea transcends all human division, and you, Mr. Putin, are fit to implement this vision with a stroke of the pen today."

"It is time."

It was working ok for Putin early in the Trump administration
IIRC one of Trumps first action in the Ukraine area was trying to prevent Ukraine from getting weapons that Congress and the Obama administration had approved for Ukraine's ongoing defense.
Of course that led to investigations and an eventual impeachment but it started with Trump trying to keep Zelensky from getting US arms.
I will stand by my conclusion that yes Putin wouldn't have needed to invade Trump would have just found a way to replace Zelensky with a regime similar to the one in Belarus

Edit the weapons to Ukraine were not a. Obama policy but part of a large military spending increase under Trump who then tried to not ship that weapons that had been approved

The blue hair American pro-war protesters in Alaska were of course paid for by a Soros Kiev group (which happens to think we should be paying untold billions more for among other things upgrades to roads in Ukraine):

youre lying

Cotton spokesperson Patrick McCann told PolitiFact that Cotton was referring to Javelins, antiarmor missiles provided by the Trump administration. In 2014, Obama rejected a request by Ukraine for those weapons. Biden was Obama's vice president.

Trump reversed Obama's policy; in 2018, the Trump administration approved a plan to sell Ukraine Javelin missiles for $47 million.

"As you can see, it is clear that this form of lethal aid was both important and provided by the Trump administration and not the Obama-Biden one," McCann said.

I recalled incorrectly

Obama did not send weapons

the weapons were approved by congress and Trump did sign the bill as part of a large increase in defense spending and some of that included weapons to Ukraine ( probably Lindsay Graham and rest of the neo-cons ; MIC congress critters included Weapons for Ukraine )
That being said Trump did try to stop those weapons that had been approved from being delivered.
