The Texas GOP is breaking precedent by attempting to redistrict outside the decennial census. It's not illegal, but it's also not congruent to Democrat-dominated states' gerrymandering. Texas was already gerrymandered like most states are. This is a blatant power grab orchestrated by the white house to increase the chance of the national GOP holding power in the midterm elections.

Texans should be outraged by the process of their legislative representation being subordinated by the federal executive branch, as well as the role we are playing in further destroying the foundation of representative government. But the Church of Trump is strong in these parts.

Lemme know how chill you are when the autocrat comes from the other side.

Had that already. Thank God we elected Trump.

So are you saying that autocracy is good as long as the autocrat comes from your side?

No what I'm saying is this ain't autocracy.

But you already knew that.

Could you specifically cite the gerrymandering evident in this redistricting of this proposal?

Yes, I know how to look at maps. Do you?

Why yes I do.
Texas has new political maps. See which districts your home is in.
seems the maps on the left(current ones) look more like salamanders then the ones on the right(new ones)
You are aware where the name gerrymandering came from?
Texas has had an enormous influx of citizens fleeing from blue states and reapportionment should not be the only tool in handling this issue, Redistricting seems reasonable at this time.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

Overstated? Think I'd go with false. As they used to say on Get Smart, "Missed it by that much!"

The Biden census wasn't just out of the norm, it was outright fraud.

I AM pissed. Im just glad that the Texas GOP is fighting back against the cheating with pretty extreme, though legal, measures, unlike the census.

We've been there. Obama was a Tyrant and he is almost solely responsible for Trump becoming president. And, no one shot Obama.

It's happened before in Texas.

So, Texas is not "breaking precedent".

Learn more history, Beto...

Also, get a new dictionary and learn what "congruent" means, because how you used it was not correct.

Just as the current supreme court makes egregious decisions (because of the conservative makeuo) whereas liberal ones make totally good decisions.

If it ain't the dems way, its practically treasonous

Like I said yesterday on the thread that was locked, anyone who cannot see the hypocrisy of this message deserves Robert Francis.

"We don't wait for 'fascists' to throw punches, so we do fascist things first". Great slogan there, ya grifter!

Liberals will cry that gerrymandering is illegal/facist/terrible/awful in one sentence, then say liberal States will have to do the same the next sentence. The irony of that being said is laughable.

Also, as so many have pointed out, it's like liberals have never looked at those already existing gerrymandered liberal State maps.

Ethics Complaints Have Plagued "Beto" & His Family Over A Decade John Griffing | Mar 16, 2019

  • O'Rourke's father-in-law, William Sanders, is one of the lead architects for the Paso Del Norte Group, a private consortium that is based in El Paso, but also does business in the drug cartel-saturated Ciudad Juarez region of Mexico.
  • In 2006, a voter filed a complaint, for example, naming then-El Paso City Councilman Beto O'Rourke and his family for potential conflicts of interest with redevelopment plans, also citing abuses of eminent domain powers:

  • Details about a potential money-laundering operation, or where the unreported money went were never referenced, and the business shuttered in August of 2017.
Not quite Biden level corruption but not for a lack of trying.
