Thank you for your service! I was an 11B but always feel like a bit of a fraud during these times--my only foreign service was Berlin Brigade.

Awesome they have a true commander in chief now and that the rules are going back to what made the Army great.

Deployed during "The Surge" to OIF in 07-08 as a 1LT Platoon Leader at Camp Liberty serving under 1st Cav and later fell in under the 3/101st Rakkasans (187th Infantry). After deployment, joined the 151st Aviation Unit in Conroe when they still had AH-64A Apaches, but were upgrading to the D's. After I left they went to some Heavy Aviation designation and now I believe they're flying Chinooks and/or Blackhawks. But that was 11-12 years ago.

Here's the schedule provided by the Army:

9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Army Fitness Competition and Awards on the National Mall

11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Army Birthday Festival on the National Mall, open to the public (the lineup of performances and presentations is available here)

6:30 p.m. Army 250th Birthday Parade

About 7:30/8 p.m. to 9:30/10 p.m. Concert and fireworks on the National Mall

Guest entry for the fitness competition and festival is set to begin at 8 a.m., while guest entry for the parade is expected to start at 2 p.m.

Where is the military parade happening?

The parade is expected to roll along Constitution Avenue, along the north side of the National Mall, from 23rd Street NW to 15th Street NW.




NBC Station in DC, so all times Eastern.

Fox News will cover it like the Macy's Parade.

In any of the handwringing about "Trump's military parade" I did not know until this thread that it was THE ARMY'S 250TH FREAKING BIRTHDAY!

I thought I hated the press enough. But I don't. I still don't.

Flag Day is a celebration of the American flag that occurs each year on June 14, the anniversary of the flag's official adoption.

What we know fondly as the "Stars and Stripes" was adopted by the Continental Congress as the official American flag on June 14, 1777, during the Revolutionary War. Colonial troops fought under many different flags with various symbols, rattlesnakes, pine trees, and eagles, and slogans"Don't Tread on Me," "Liberty or Death," and "Conquer or Die," to name a few.

So what you are saying is that on the 2nd birthday of the Army, they recognized our union and sovereignty with adopting the "Stars and Stripes" as the official flag. Makes sense.

Apparently, some members of the Aggie Corps of Cadets will be marching in the parade finale behind the U.S. Military Academy at West Point band. What an honor!
