RIP Big Dog

Not to burst your bubble, but Toby Keith was a raging liberal. But he knew his audience and how to play into them and seized the perfect opportunity that the Dixie Chicks gave him.
Toby Keith would have performed for the Army. He was not a "raging lib." He was a Dem until 2016 at which time he became an independent. He performed at Trump's inauguration. He did tons of shows for the USO in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Toby Keith would do just about anything for his $350,000 rider.

He was a raging liberal. Those of us who knew and worked with him knew it. You'd be shocked at what other country artists were raging liberals. They just knew their audiences

His OK Kids Korral and Toby Keith Foundation have a solid rep.

Not sure where the crazy hate for Tobes came from. Probably not perfect, but call him Hitler before you call him a raging lib. Have some decorum.

We knew him. He wasn't a "raging liberal." And he 100% loved performing for the troops.

I knew him too. And his manager, and management company, and his record company reps and executives. I knew him back in 1997. You are assuming because I'm calling him a liberal he was anti American. Far from it. He's literally proof that you can be a liberal and love this country.

He left the Democratic Party in 2008. He was no flaming liberal, byt he was 100% Patriot.

My family knew him before and after he was famous. The poster said he would have loved to have performed at the parade and he was right. He would have. He wasn't a 'raging lib." I don't even like his music. But he liked performing for the troops. Period.

A "raging" liberal does not vote twice for W Bush. Seems to have been an independent.

Maybe someone is sore he gave Swift a start and she turned into a very influential libtard.

Back to the OP, how was Trumps speech? I recorded parade but Fox had it all chopped up.

Saw a Captain interviewed. He said this was first time in D.C. for many of the troops! Heck, I've never been there. What an experience for a kid who came from background where a trip to DC would be unaffordable. And to mix it with patriotic themes and love for your country. Let libs tell me what is wrong with that?

Looked like we sent all our Army ROTC senior contract '26 seniors up for this parade. Did the Trigon wrangle a Texas Air Guard C-130 ride up/back for them? Likely they are all headed to summer camp next week. Looked good and were in step while on camera. Saw it better on Newsmax which we changed too after getting pissed at all the commentators talking too much on Fox. Plus all the commercials.

My son just commissioned in May so he will know those guys. I'll get the scoop.

Went back and looked at the video. About 50 kids total, zips on the perimeter. How did they get selected and how did they travel up/back?

Marched well while the camera was on.

Thank you for your service! I was an 11B but always feel like a bit of a fraud during these times--my only foreign service was Berlin Brigade.
My Dad served in Korea, but "only" in civil service so he always deferred to "actual soldiers".

To make it Aggie-related, he was class of '54 but took off two years in the middle to serve. Came back to finish and graduated in '57.

Thanks to all of you for your service.

To get this back on topic of The Army, on this day in 1775 (16June), the Continental Congress authorized the Corps of Engineers.

It took less than 2 days for the Infantry to say Holy S***, we need Engineers and for congress to authorize it.
