I think it reflects poorly on the administration - they screwed up when they deported him, and it sounds like they found out about all of the things he's charged with after the fact. Ready, fire, aim.

This is coming from someone absolutely in favor of locking the border down and getting illegal immigration under control. They 'fixed the glitch' but they shouldn't have had one to begin with.
The voters dont care about that at all. Hes a criminal, and will be deported after jail.

Of course, because the average voter on either side only reads the headline.

No, the voters know he is an illegal and will be deported.

Live feed of him coming back, having a short due process hearing and the result.

The attorney who stated that got removed from the case. Not that ABC would ever tell the truth.

Oh, and "sources say" is what ABC is going with. We shall see.
Can you show me where the US has filed something the removed attorney (Ryan Reuveni) was wrong about the mistaken removal?
It may take me a bit to read through the hundreds of things I have read on the subject.

Edit: not a good look for the other side either of course, he was a terrible example for them to use.
Why is it so important that he's tried here?

I too have readmost of what they have filed, and I don't remember the member expressly changing that he was initially mistakenly deported.

My memory is that their position is that even though that was a mistake, they were still permitted to deport him, just not to El Salvador.

But I'm getting old and the memory isn't the best anymore! That's why I asked ! Lol

Due process protects all of us. Would you want to be nabbed, taken to El Salvador and tried?

I would want at least a quick hearing where I could prove my citizenship and present witnesses that they nabbed the wrong dude. Here. In an American court.

I get the feeling that the melanin challenged don't ever worry about being nabbed, mistakenly or not. Call it a gut feeling.

Why can't this be addressed at the US Embassy in El Salvador? Car ride across town is a lot cheaper than a plane flight to the US.

Because despite the claims from one group saying Trump is lawless and loves to disobey court orders and another group wishing that were the case, the truth is, Trump is following the law and doing his best to follow the law and orders from the court, whether he agrees with them or not.

I agree with it may end up being good politically for Republicans for the democrats to continue to fawn over the gangbanger, but for an administration trying to cut costs and be more efficient, this cannot be good. How many hundreds of thousands of $$$ is it to find him, deport him once, bring him back, charge him, try him in court and then potentially deport him again?

I'd say your buddy is a perfect example of how someone can be highly educated and yet still extremely irrational and dumb about some things.

This is an extremely petty concern given the political fallout from the Dems over reach. This is the kind of thing that affects elections. It's another 80/20 loser for Dems and your main concern is a few plane flights. The longer this stays in the news the better it is for America as the Dems continue to reveal for whom they're really fighting for.

He was so scared, i showed him my gun closet and recommended some guns for him. I don't think he can pull the trigger on that (pun intended). He made me nervous with him just holding a gun. Some people shouldn't own guns for their own safety. Great hand surgeon though.

Mistakenly deported Salvadoran native Kilmar Abrego Garcia is on his way back to the United States where he will face criminal charges for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the U.S., according to sources familiar with the matter.

More than two months after the Trump administration admitted it mistakenly deported Abrego Garcia from Maryland to his native El Salvador, a federal grand jury has indicted him for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the United States, ABC News has learned.

Just leave him there!

He will never be deported again; in fact a judge will likely grant him residency if not citizenship.

Soon a judge will likely put a complete halt to all deportations nationwide if not stop ICE completely from arresting anyone.

The left has won and in 2029, they will grant citizenship to the army they let invade us for 4 years.
Trump will end up ignoring the courts before he'll halt the deportations and stop ICE from doing the job they are supposed to do.
I doubt it.

He's caved to their every single demand so far.

And if he ignores it, there will be enough votes in the House for impeachment.
I'd like to see Democrats and RINOs impeach a President for deporting illegals.
I really would.

What kind of r*tarded fools believe any of this nonsense?
There was an unchallenged court order barring his deportation to El Salvador, although not his deportation in general. The administration could have, in theory, deported him to any other country willing to accept him.

As his case is now a cause celebre, presumably he will get the best defense his donors can buy.

So, either he gets convicted and sent to federal prison, and then subject to deportation after serving his sentence, or he gets acquitted and deported directly. Probably to some hospitable place like Rwanda where he can seek asylum from the scary people in El Salvador.

It would be for violating a federal court order. What the order would be about would be irrelevant.

Yeah, they keep saying that he was mistakenly deported. He was not. But apparently they are going to charge him so I think he'll be going back anyway, which is what they have said all along. This is not a win for them, but of course, Democrats will try to push it as such.

This is just pure stupidity.

Unless we get a dumbass liberal judge on this and somehow they screw this over.

Quote:

Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national deported earlier this year, is now back on U.S. soil but this time, in handcuffs.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Friday that Abrego Garcia, 29, has landed in the United States and is set to face federal charges for human smuggling and conspiracy.

"Abrego Garcia has landed in the United States to face justice," Bondi said. "A grand jury in the Middle District of Tennessee returned a sealed indictment charging him with alien smuggling and conspiracy."
According to the indictment, Garcia played a "significant role" in a human smuggling ring operating for nearly a decade. Bondi described him as a full-time smuggler who made more than 100 trips, transporting women, children, and MS-13 gang-affiliated persons throughout the United States.
