Makes sense. By the time they read the charge and gave closing argument it would be 5 o'clock. No judge wants to let a jury start deliberating at 5, or send them home right after closing.

I can't imagine closing arguments taking more than an hour for each side. (And even that is a stretch.)

Another hour for the jury charge. So they get the case around lunchtime. So four to five hours for deliberations sounds about right. Not that complicated of a case.

Well they had $600k to pay for a top notch attorney but rumor is they bought a house and a couple of vehicles and their guy is from the public defender's office.

I blame the people that donated to the Go Fund Me for not taking their luxury housing needs into consideration

4 hours? It was 2:30. Takes 30 minutes to read the charge in a murder case with self defense. Each side will get at least an hour to close. That's 5 o'clock.

They came back around 2:00, they have a 6pm schedule. With so little put out, I can't see a long drawn out closing by either side. I imagine if you asked the jury, they'd stay late to get the case late this afternoon.

Not their call unless the judge asks them that. Some judges will do that, others will not.
