Due process? Due process rights to a security clearance? That's a first for me.

Lawyers, err judges, once again with specious opinions/rulings.

Are we really the kind of society that has devolved to the point where we're cool with just ignoring the rule of law? So many people around here completely dismiss the Trump convictions because of "lawfare". However, had Biden been convicted of 34 felonies, you would have accepted it on its face and demanded he be punished to the full extent of the law. Why? Because you wave a red pom pom and he waves a blue one? Is it that far fetched to believe that Trump actually committed the crimes?

I actually believe that when Trump said he could shoot someone on Fifth Ave in NYC and never lose a vote, he was right.

Because what Trump did was not a violation of law. Know that is a difficult concept to grasp but it was not in any manner a felony, even under NY law.

Judge screwed up that case from the get go.

What does that have to do with this?

They used a dossier they knew was fake. That's a bad look.

You make it sound like the MAGA Trumpers are just knee jerk responding based purely upon personality and ideology. I submit that is totally in error..

Enough is known about the "34 convictions" to say that they are a miscarriage of justice, starting with a prosecutor that ran on an indict Trump for anything platform, a change in the statute of limitations made with one purpose, a judge with significant conflicts who made unprecedented rulings in favor of the prosecution, a hand shopped forum calculated to get the "convictions", Federal cooperation in furtherance of the president's not so subtle agenda, scheduling intended to conflict with the campaign with gag orders and orders to personally appear, etc., etc., etc.

This is not just from the Red team either- Turley and Dershowitz cannot be described as Republican or conservative, but do care about the rule of law.

I would say adherence to the rule of law is precisely why I am "cool with just ignoring" those 34 convictions.in court proceedings that banana republics would be ashamed to have occur in their justice system. Even though I am less than impressed with some of the judges on the SCOTUS, if a single one of the "convictions" survive through their review, I will be glad to revisit my opinion. Until then, yes I am cool with calling those proceedings what they were- a political farce.

That's precisely what this unethical ***** is doing. She has no legal authority to do it. That's what happened when political prisoners were jailed without bail for J6. But you know that.

Y'all understand that Perkins Coie only sought a TRO on certain portions of the Executive Order and specifically did not seek a TRO on the security clearance aspect, right? This is a wise decision by Perkins Coie.

A lot on commentary here is focused on the security clearance aspect, which is not subject to the court's ruling today.

Have always done that; I don't hero-worship any politicians, regardless of party.

I also ask myself whether the Commander in Chief has the authority to revoke security clearances, and how often the courts have intervened to prevent the Executive Branch from exercising authority on national security matters.

You mentioned the rule of law. Good question. But it's "Rule of Law," not "Rule By Courts." We've drifted into some legitimate balance of power questions, and not just in this one case. It is natural and expected for the courts to weigh in on expansions of Executive authority, but less so for them to routinely weigh in on the everyday exercise of established authority.

Maybe Perkins Coie can keep the firms clearance but that does not mean their employees can keep their clearances. This also does not mean that the P-C offices have to be approved to store classified data/info.

Pull those and lets see what happens next.
That would be awesome and exactly what Trump would do.

Step 1: allows the Law firm to have security.

Step 2: ask law firm to submit names for security approval with White House

Step 3: deny anyone with a two-hop to any who sniffed at the Jan 6, Russiagate, impeachment trial and any other bull**** charge they tried to nail Trump with.
I would ask them to present evidence of who did participate in Russiagate as a means to prove who didn't. Then cut them off at the knees if they lie about any of their key partners not being involved. Use their lying as a justification to deny the whole firm clearances. If they tell the truth about all of it, use it to discredit the firm due to their widespread involvement.

This is like drinking a watered down coke.

Yes. When Biden ignored court ruling and gave the middle finger salute…..yes it was a problem because he knowingly didn't care

In the cases of Trump….it was a corrupt process. No one whose is honest and says the process that led to any prosecution was not corrupt.

The 34 conviction is just a number the left conjured up. It Trump was Clinton…..the story would be …..it was only a cigar.

Jesters will jester.

It is clear that the left is using the judiciary and the senate cloture rule to block Trump's policies, which the majority voted for. The senate should end the cloture rule, which I think they can do with a simple majority vote. Can the DOJ investigate activist judges? This is truly a war for this country.
