Not a fan, personally.
"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward."
Matthew 6:5
Curious what TXAgPreacher thought.. just seemed performative. Totally against the purpose of prayer imo.
Did you not feel uplifted during the prayer? I texted a local pastor to see if he was watching, he had a very positive response. But then he is a black preacher too, which makes me value his opinion more highly than yours. Because of the pastor status, not his skin color.
Trusting in feelings isn't something I live by..
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can understand it?"
Jeremiah 17:9
I hope the pastor was genuine in his prayer - it just set alarm bells off in my head. If it were a speech or something, great. But prayer should be genuine and humble as you petition the Lord.
