Did you not feel uplifted during the prayer? I texted a local pastor to see if he was watching, he had a very positive response. But then he is a black preacher too, which makes me value his opinion more highly than yours. Because of the pastor status, not his skin color.

Trusting in feelings isn't something I live by..

I hope the pastor was genuine in his prayer - it just set alarm bells off in my head. If it were a speech or something, great. But prayer should be genuine and humble as you petition the Lord.

It culture - basically just said a lot of the African American "Gospel" churches don't pray right

It's nice isn't it. He not only knows about almost every topic. He's just talking to them off the cuff. Nothing prepared. Although whoever that Brazilian woman is, she is monopolizing the questions.
