This all began because Trump nominated Sriram Krishnan to be his AI advisor despite Krishnan living in London, calling India home, and pushing for no caps on H1-Bs.
There has been a full on revolt against this.

I can't tell you how many times I have heard this statement in the past few days:
The pro-immigration tech bro side of the immigration debate is doing a better job turning people against immigration than the actual restrictionists

"You're a dying race of dumb inbred losers and all your achievements are because of foreigners anyway" isn't really the best pitch

Again, Canada did the “skilled immigration” thing and the country is done. NO ONE actually thinks this will be good for America. Indians support it out of racial collectivism, corporations want to pay the slop programmers nothing and barricade themselves from externalities.

Watching Elon get ratioed badly on his own site over the H1B issue is a fascinating revelation of reality.

Making it affordable for a hardworking young person to afford a family is the core of “America First.”

Too many have bought the lie that the path to prosperity is to flood the nation with cheap labor.
In the next administration, we’ll fight for American workers. https://t.co/VDadyhf5ho
It's going to be very interesting to see how this evolves. Regardless, if we don't fix the H1-B issue then the US will turn into Canada and become India 2.0. The fact that 72% of these visas are given to Indians alone says something is entirely broken with the system.
