Biden commutes nearly all federal death row sentences

Biden has commuted the sentences of 37 prisoners on federal death row, leaving only the Boston Marathon bomber and two people who committed mass murders at religious services on death row.

I can't support the rationale here: the death penalty is either wrong or it isn't. This is yet another example of this administration saying that it would do one thing, and then doing another.

So had he allowed them all to escape death row, you'd be ok with it since it would be consistent? Wow.

Yeah, saw an article this weekend that he was considering it. The author went out of their way to point out he's a devout Catholic. I wondered if they make that point when he talks about supporting abortion?

You don't hate Biden enough. He just urinated on the graves of every victim and will gladly announce it.

No, he's pointing out the hypocrisy involved. This wasn't a moral decision, it was a political one.

Which people? I thought everyone still held had been convicted or had agreed to postpone their trial dates?

Right. He's upset about the inconsistency, not the commutation itself.

These people were not convicted and sentenced by Republicans. Satan's skin suit, Joe Biden, has decided to simply ignore the law, once again.

He literally promised to work to end the federal death penalty when he got elected. Nonetheless, the DOJ has pursued death sentences under his administration, and this action sends the message that some murder victims are more equal than others.

The law here is quite clear. The President's pardon power for past federal crimes is without limits. Biden could have let all these guys walk out of jail, and there would be nothing anyone could do about it as far as the federal court system goes (although many of them would be arrested and prosecuted in state court).

This is insane and should be addressed with a constitutional amendment, but that is a topic for a different discussion.

I fully get why people think Luiigi did a good thing. There are just as many on the right (online, at least) who think the same. However, no one with a brain cell or sense of justice sees what Biden did as a good thing.

Then again, I'm of the opinion that the person sentenced to death row should be on death row for as long as it takes to set up the electric chair. So, the person's time on death row should last all of a few minutes.

The biden crime family loves criminals and hates victims just like they hate capitalism, fossil fuels, and America. They despise personal responsibility so forgive student loans and are soft on crime and criminals.

I would love to see the office of the president lose the power to override the justice system by commuting sentences and giving pardons.

He is a worthless POS and the sooner he stops breathing, the better off for us.

This is dumb. White Collar crimes can absolutely devastate tons of people who possibly lost their savings and or retirements. Some white collar criminals deserve to be executed.

I will be very surprised if they're being released.

Big Prison makes way too much money by keeping their prisons full. They'll fight tooth and nail to not lose even one sack of government money, I mean, prisoner.
