But was an emergency declaration needed for this? Seems the industry could do this of their own free will, and/or the existing gov't structures could add it to their current oversight pretty easily.Quote:
He's beefing up testing in poultry and dairy cattle, and implementing animal quarantine measures when a positive test happens

the fear of lockdowns isnt irrational since trump declared an emergency in 2020 and then we went into horrific lockdowns that damged the economy and people

Governors did that, and the Democrat governors like Newsom, Frau Whitmer, Cuomo, Grisham, etc. were the ones keeping the government jackboot on the populations throat for over a year.

where does it say anything about lock downs?

So, that state of emergency that California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared Wednesday related to bird flu? According to at least one California civil rights attorney, it's not legal because, as Newsom and his office have repeatedly stated, it's a "proactive" measure and there's very low risk to the public.
LINKQuote:
The headline of the announcement on Newsom's website reads, "Governor Newsom takes proactive action to strengthen robust state response to Bird Flu." (Don't worry, Governor, we've archived it.) In a statement accompanying the declaration, Newsom said:As I wrote earlier, there's a major concern among Californians that Newsom will use this emergency declaration to push through essentially unrelated actions as he did during the COVID state of emergency. When one Californian, physician and activist Dr. Houman Hemmati, shared such sentiments on X, Newsom's press office replied, saying:Quote:
"While the risk to the public remains low, we will continue to take all necessary steps to prevent the spread of this virus."Quote:
Get the facts
This isn't COVID-19
Risk is very low.
This is proactive to protect public health + Ag industry.
Bird flu isn't spreading person-to-person.
No public mask mandates or restrictions.
Avoid raw milk & unnecessary contact with livestock.

Dude.. 60% are.
There are good California conservatives here, just as many as Texas who are not. Don't include us in that.

I would think you would be busy reworking your family budget to allocate 40% of it towards gas next summer.

I meant gas for cars next summer when his policy is really going to kick the consumer in the nutz. However, i am glad to see all the counter measures /defensive measures you are doing to avoid being a victim of the paratitic nature of Ca govt. on your finances. I fully support your take on climate change. Carbon is in a fight for its life and needs all the allies it can get. Sign me up in the war for increaed emissions!!AggieDruggist89 said:EX TEXASEX said:

Nah.. 40 solar panels and geothermal system. Only drive plugin hybrid, minimal. I spend more time in Virginia. You just have to stay a few steps ahead of these libtards. Also use hardwood for heating in winter. Have the best wood fire place. Have tons of blue mountain oak and manzanitas on property. Love spewing maximum amt of smoke and CO2
