Is there an upcoming budget approval vote that relates to drone detection in some way? That would be my guess.

Good points from a drone operator, specifically the FAA requirement that any drone heavier than 250g must be equipped with remote ID. Includes a video snippet demonstrating how local LE and the FBI can coordinate within minutes of a drone sighting to establish who is operating a drone.

Adds up to "this is a federally approved operation", not rogue drones from hobbyists, Iranians, or Chinese spies.
It's approved. Doesn't mean it isn't a foreign actor.

The Chinese balloon surveilled military bases across the country. With clear approval from the federal government.

Only to be legal.

People can build these things in a day or so depending on how fancy they want to get, and they certainly don't have to include an ID broadcast system if they build it themselves, they are just in violation of some regulation, if they don't include it or turn the squawk off.

You're missing the point. There are two possible states:
  • Drone has remote ID = LE and FBI can tell very quickly who the operator is and where; they're lying when they claim they can't
  • Drone doesn't have remote ID = illegal drone, security threat
Seems like the rules of engagement should be pretty clear. If the drone is operating where it shouldn't be, LE can check the remote ID and contact the operator to stop. If the drone doesn't have remote ID, LE can treat the drone as hostile.

A lot of people are covering **** up.

The real criminals for that state of affairs are the legacy MSM and the Pentagon (and presumably the Hill) for allowing this state of affairs to continue and unelected people to run America without even being named so you can know their bent.

Guerrilla warfare has evolved to another level that makes Domestic armor vulnerable. I think this is a setup for a false flag to con us into supporting legislation to restrict ownership of these "weapons of war".

Okay, can spot that. I just find it surprising how quick the assumptions war-like acts are being committed by overseas powers when its the WH that won't come clean about practically anything.

An argument can be made the reckless Hillary and Congressional `Russiagate' hoax pointless further damaged relations with Russia just to cover up an intel coup against incoming Trump.

There are reports that pilots are being hit by lasers more and more often.

From https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/5045984-fbi-warning-mystery-drones-planes-lasers/

Quote:

"FBI Newark and New Jersey State Police want to warn the public about an increase in pilots of manned aircraft being hit in the eyes with lasers because people on the ground think they see an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)," the FBI's field office in Newark said in a statement posted to the social platform X.

"There is also a concern with people possibly firing weapons at what they believe to be a UAS but could be a manned aircraft," it added.

For what it's worth, the maximum penalty for shooting down a drone is reported to be $250,000 and 20 years in prison.

Well, it's legal to fly Part 107 at night.

So...the FAA several years ago?

Not saying these are Part 107 flights though...

Well...even though the law went into affect back in Sep 2023, there's still a lot of people that haven't complied. Probably because they don't know.

Now the MANUFACTURERS knew and (pretty much) every UAS sold in the US after that date had RID.

But there are a LOT of legacy UAS out there that may not have it.

Now...if any of these are Part 107 flights, they KNOW the regulations and KNOW they can lose their license for not complying so I'm sure all of their UAS have RID.

Quote:

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen, or NOTAM, that bans uncrewed aircraft from within one nautical mile of specified infrastructure through mid-January. The government may use "deadly force" against the drones if they present an "imminent security threat," the NOTAM said.
Quote:

Meanwhile, in proof that absolutely no one is in charge of the country, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said to pay no attention to the FAA. All is well. Remain calm.

"We continue to assess there is no public safety threat relating to the reported drone sightings," the DHS spokesperson said in a statement Thursday. "In coordination with the FAA and our critical infrastructure partners who requested temporary flight restrictions over their facilities, out of an abundance of caution, the FAA has issued temporary flight restrictions over some critical infrastructure facilities in New Jersey."

"No public safety threat" but we're treating a drone as an "imminent threat" if it flies over restricted airspace? Why couldn't they have done this a month ago?

Interesting that the flight restrictions only apply to drones flying below 400 ft, and that there are exclusions for drones involved in emergency situations or operations with a statement of work. That last phrase sounds like a massive loophole to me. What does this actually accomplish? It sounds like all I'd have to do to avoid being subject to the restrictions is fly a drone at 401 ft. Surely that's not right.

After 4-weeks of drone mania, it's strongly worded letter time.

So to recap:

There are no drones.
Drones are mistaken for regular aircraft.
There are drones, they are authorized and they are manned aircraft.
The drones are from an Iranian mothership.
Some of the drones are ours that are investigating other drones.
Ask the pentagon about the drones.
The drones pose not threat to the public.
The drones are from China. .
You'll have to ask congress about the drones.
The drones don't respond to electronic countermeasures, we are flabbergasted.
The drones are US assets, they're ours, don't worry.
The drones aren't searching for anything but if they searching for something it's not threat.
We don't know what the drones are but don't shoot at the drones or shine lasers on the drones.
We putting our foot down about these drones and may authorize the use of deadly force.
Don't make us trot out the flared up 2-star general with oversized jacket again.

Miss anything?

This isn't hard.

China does a HUGE amount of shipping to the USA. They load some on one of their cargo ships, with a couple of their Intel people posing as crew, then when it nears port, the drones are flown to agents in the USA onshore and control is handed off.

Or, they are shipped as parts or commercial drones and picked up or "bought" by local Chinese agents and run out of warehouses or private storage or off property purchased by a Chinese commercial front group.

Authorities here are coming out with a fusillade of BS because they suspect the above is true for many of the drones but they have little effective detection means and countermeasures and don't want to make that public.

If and when you shoot a drone down:
Place in salt water brine.
Stuff with cornbread dressing.
Bake at 275 degrees for 2 1/2 hrs.
Trim using 15 lb sledge.
Scatter remnants in weird neighbor's yard and call local LEO.

That's because the FAA restricts all flights to below 400 ft for Part 107 and recreational pilots.

You'd have to get a waiver or a COA to fly higher.

BTW, if you fly it at 401 ft, you've technically broken the law. The 2024 FAA Reauthorization Act that just passed raised the fine for violations up to $75k per incident. The FAA can be a real ******* if they want.

There's TONS there because DFW is currently the hub of activity for UAM and AAM testing and operations.

I worked on one test earlier this year. And know a lot of the people involved.

So it appears to be a ban specifically targeted at hobbyist drones, which excludes the SUV sized drones that everyone is so freaked out about. That won't fix anything. Looks like the FAA doesn't want to be a real ******* here.
