Just looked at this drone thread..so no real news as to what's going on?
Yep, completely unrelated. This was a single guy flying a small drone, not close to the scale we're seeing over NJ.Jock 07 said:FobTies said:
Not sure if this was posted. Last week a Chinese national was arrested flying a drone over a mile above a restricted Vandenberg space force base.
It was, back on the 13th.
I strongly suspect that it is a form of hysteria -- people are seeing whatever they are inclined to see.fullback44 said:

And often complete nonsense as well. These drones don't have the range or endurance to get here from China. So if China is responsible, that means they brought them here undetected and are basing the operations and maintenance of them IN America. It's ridiculous and insulting.Stat Monitor Repairman said:.@RepMcCaul on drones: "My judgement based on my experience is that those that are over our military sites are adversarial and most likely are coming from the People's Republic of China."

So the drones are from China now? People in congress cant make up their mind. Seems like they'll say anything
December 17th and you got local mayors, state officials, federal agencies, DOD, the WH and congresspeople all saying completely different things.
The only thing consistent about this is the inconsistency of information being released to the public.

Starting to think you are right. Because you are talking about the kind of situation where start out with maybe a 15% true (if that) kernel, and then everyone is suddenly seeing or hearing `witches.' Or even manufacturing them.eric76 said:I strongly suspect that it is a form of hysteria -- people are seeing whatever they are inclined to see.fullback44 said:

If true, then what new news could there be?
🚨BIDEN FINALLY ADDRESSES NJ DRONES:

“Nothing nefarious, apparently... there’s a lot of drones authorized up there.. I think one started, and they all got — everybody wanted to get in the deal.”

I haven't seen anything yet that changes my view that these are primarily technology demonstrator prototypes being operated by private defense contractors. That allows Kirby to say that they're not USG drones. Sure, it's not a straightforward answer, but it's technically true.LMCane said:
the fact that yesterday Kirby said these are NOT USG drones...
well then who the @#$@#$ do they belong to??!
better believe these are likely some Chinese and Russians controlling some of this.

Government officials *always* try to avoid giving details away whenever possible. Politicians at every level and in every party make a habit of sticking as narrowly as possible to the wording of the question. They all do it, regardless of the issue or topic. They can't help it. So just because they're being cagey about *NJ drones* doesn't mean anything significant.LMCane said:G Martin 87 said:I haven't seen anything yet that changes my view that these are primarily technology demonstrator prototypes being operated by private defense contractors. and what's your reason about WHY this would be happening with private contractor drones?!?
if that was the case, why wouldn't the government simply say:
"we are testing private sector drones- nothing to worry about"?!
LOL, we are living in a wacky made-for-Netflix B movie. This is nuts.Stat Monitor Repairman said:🚨BIDEN FINALLY ADDRESSES NJ DRONES:

Paw weighs in and say don't worry about it.
Paw's word is strong.
As strong as oak.
Yep. Another example of instilling confidence in people. " Mam, as a herpetologist I can tell you with confidence that the snake you saw inside your garage is not one of the deadly ones we have around here, I think "BadMoonRisin said:

I sure feel much safer.
That is a completely absurd non-explanation. He knows he is lying. Probably.Quote:

They could belong to government contractors, which would technically be true. Sadly, these people lie to us daily without hesitation or remorse.LMCane said:

What about the odor generated from his pants?Quote:
My nose wrinkles from the odor generated anytime Biden says get in on the deal.
This is where I have been leaning lately...only real questions if that is the case is if it some sort of exercise, or some type of genuine operation.G Martin 87 said:
Good points from a drone operator, specifically the FAA requirement that any drone heavier than 250g must be equipped with remote ID. Includes a video snippet demonstrating how local LE and the FBI can coordinate within minutes of a drone sighting to establish who is operating a drone.
Adds up to "this is a federally approved operation", not rogue drones from hobbyists, Iranians, or Chinese spies.

Only to be legal.
People can build these things in a day or so depending on how fancy they want to get, and they certainly don't have to include an ID broadcast system if they build it themselves, they are just in violation of some regulation, if they don't include it or turn the squawk off.

After the Chinese spy balloon they went crazy and started shooting down anything that moved.
Shot down UAP in Michigan, Canada and Alaska over the course of a week to which there never was any explanation.

Flashback the Chinese spy balloon incident when after that incident we find out that NORAD has the ability to tune up their radars to track mylar balloons that escaped from the dollar store.
Now fast forward a year and nobody has any idea about anything and all branches of government are spiderman memeing each other.
