Trump pardon his son in law's father, Charles Kushner who has been appointed to be the ambassador to France by Trump. He had pleaded guilty to tax evasion, illegal campaign donations and witness tampering.
Kushner's Dad served his time, though.

Not going to read the whole thread but just to chime in - this is obviously self serving for the Bidens, but doesn't this basically take all of the political bite out of Trump pardoning January 6ers right out of the gate when he's sworn in?

I don't want to give Biden credit for "5D Chess" here, but it seems like this could be another example of him doing something that is good for him but is also a big "F U" to the party.

Yes I'm aware. He shouldn't have been able to do that either.

This is a righteous pardon says Joe:

Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department's decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.

Folks, it's OK to lie when you purchase a gun. Its also OK to not pay your taxes if you are a crackhead!

Ahhhhhh......

He left out "Selectively prosecuted by the people I hired in my party working for me"

The difference is that Hunter actually committed crimes. And hasn't faced a single consequence for any of them. While true political prisoners (J6) have been rotting in jail for years.

Incredible. He literally lied again in the pardon in back to back sentences.

Sentence 1: I signed a pardon so I've lied this whole time.

Sentence 2: I said I would never do this and I've kept my word.

It's one thing to pardon someone (in the case a son) for an act (or maybe a few) of indiscretion.

For Hunter, it wasn't an act or two, it was a lifestyle of organized crime for decades, and he has gotten off completely free.

Guess the next step is for the new FBI to publicly verify the authenticity of the laptop, publish the content and let the states deal with his crimes at their level. If he was sleeping with minors, release it he same day as the Epstein list.

It has already been publicly verified in a federal court room during Hunter's drug/gun case by the prosecution AND defense. It's just that the MSM refuses to cover it.

just really surprised that Biden would ever pardon his son to protect his corrupt dealings with Burisma and the CHICOMS.

no one could have seen this coming.

"Most people" doing something doesn't make it any less amoral or corrupt.
True but I doubt you'd get this upset if your guy had done this.

Well, we know for a fact now how your side reacted. We don't have to speculate do we?

Think again. I criticize "my guy" when it's deserved. Like most of my fellow conservatives do.

And I will give you a topical example. It was wrong for Trump to pardon that sleaze ball Kushner. His daughter's father-in-law.

And I think it's disgusting he is appointing him ambassador to France.

Maybe he's doing it as an insult to France...

If my son had been involved in literal traitorous and seditious activity then hell no I wouldn't pardon him. There is no way in hell my Dad would pardon me for such behavior. He's also trying to cover up his own discretions with this pardon.

We had a full blown government conspiracy in cahoots with Biden and all Democrats over this horse**** to falsely impeach Trump and then to keep him from winning again in order to hide the Biden's criminal enterprise.

How in the world can the 5-6 of you on here justify that just because it's your son?

Get some ethics and values.

If Hunter's only crime was the gun charge, more people could probably understand and might even have some sympathy since at the time he was a drug addict. (Probably still is, but that's another topic.)

However, this was clearly done to cover up and protect Hunter from all of this other nefarious activates with Ukraine, China, etc. That goes well beyond trying to help his kid get beyond one single foul up.

And if it was my kid, I would not pardon him whatsoever. My dad taught me that if you do the crime, you pay the price for it. He always said if I ever got arrested, he would never bail me out. Guess what, I never got arrested.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Doocy needs to just tell KJP "In case you didn't know, this is what gaslighting looks like. You have done nothing but lie to the American people with every word you've spoken as press secretary" and damn the consequences. He'll get his front seat back when Trump is in office.
