I think that the absolute power of the pardon for the President is definitely a problem. We've already established that a President (Clinton) can basically sell a pardon (Marc Rich). Now we're seeing a President pardon a family member for felony gun charges. A President pardoning himself is probably not far away.

Moreover, Biden (or any occupant of the office) could, in a fit of pique, empty the entire Federal prison system on the way out of office, and there would be absolutely nothing anyone could do about it. That's insane.

One thing most may not remember is that while it is true that Clinton pardoned his brother Roger in 2001 for a cocaine conviction in 1984, it is also true that Roger was picked up in a sting that Governor Clinton was aware of and didn't call it off or warn Roger. So Bill allowed his brother to get arrested and serve time in federal prison.

Very different kind of familial pardon than Biden and Hunter. Bill essentially expunged Roger's record after he was punished. Joe prevented Hunter from going to prison and most importantly, from turning state's evidence on Joe.

The problem is that the left will never see their own hypocrisy.

The fact is that he has the power to issue pardons. We can disagree with them all we want, but it's within his presidential powers.

Him going back on his word is what everyone should be pissed about, but we all know the resident lib's won't care.

The good news is that he won't be put out in public in the future. He can crap his pants as much as he wants and lay on the beach not knowing where he is.
