BTW, further investigation of Hunter would be a mistake unless it is to get people around him. Even then it's probably not worth it. Trump his DOJ have so little time to get things done and this could be a major distraction.

What it is though is a massive political opportunity for Trump. This glosses over any pardons he will make for Jan 6 or FACE Act or for his own associates. It will help with doing the things he needs to do to get things done once in power with a Congress that already looks like it will be a problem for him even if it is GOP by the slimmest of majorities. That's the game that matters and not trying to put some crackhead who will likely OD in the next few years anyway in jail.

The president shouldn't have the ability to pardon family members, friends and associates, or anyone acting at the behest of the president.

Trump pardon his son in law's father, Charles Kushner who has been appointed to be the ambassador to France by Trump. He had pleaded guilty to tax evasion, illegal campaign donations and witness tampering.
