I think RFK Jr's anti-vax (and all vax, not just C-19) stance might be what takes him down even with republicans. I'm picking up a lot of REEEEEE from both sides over that already.

Dude. He's not anti vax. Don't know what's so hard to understand about that

It's very simple…support his nominees or expect to face a well-funded primary opponent…

I doubt that moves certain people. Trump has push Oz, Lake, Walker and that didn't seem to matter. Some GOP senators are more popular in their own states than Trump.

Gaetz is going to be a tough one to confirm. He burned a lot of bridges.

Nothing
We have a transportation secretary whose qualification was mayor of south bend, Indiana.

Whoa whoa whoa… Chest feeder also said he liked trains and he is gay. Don't short change him on his applicable credentials!

He certainly could, but Cornyn is more popular among Republican voters than Cruz is, and assuming Abbott runs for re-election, there won't be a big draw for voter turnout in midterms.

I won't be surprised if Rodney Ellis convinces Lina Hidalgo to run against Cornyn just so he can get rid of her.

Have my doubts about Tulsi and RFK making it through. Probably can find 4 R votes against them, let's see if any Dems vote for them and get them confirmed

They will all make it…….but it won't be easy.

The biggest threats are the RINO's and I doubt that Trump and new cabinet members will not fight back. It is times like this where the Republican Party implodes on itself.

I don't think this time the Republican's implode on tgemselves.

All the pillowbiters that are pearl clutching over Gaetz are going to get a rude awakening. After what the DOJ did to Trump he is going to put someone as AG that will go full tilt William Wallace in the DOJ and Gaetz will go in double fisted swinging his Claymore and cleaning house. If it's not Gaetz it will be someone else that will. This is 200% going to happen one way or another. However it going to be a batter. The way they set up the AFGE unlike private-sector workers, federal employees can't be fired instantly. Government agencies must follow a specific procedure to fire someone. This process requires them to have documented performance- or conduct-based reasons for removing an employee. However the AFGE isn't a real union because as part of the Hatch Act GS employees can't legally strike. And there is no NCA, they just set up these policies to protect their asses when the go full Page and Strzok and get away with it. But guess what nimrods who above all is in charge of Policy at the DOJ?? The POTUS and until now none were ballsy enough to say ENOUGH. Executive Order change the policy and go to work. If there's a huge walkout so be it. That would make it easier to get rid of the trash

Gaetz is his best pick so far. Need to get him through by hook or crook. He's exactly the type of person needed to dismantle and rebuild the DOJ from scratch. Thus, I predict he will be confirmed.

As a democrat, yes. A choice between Allred and Cornyn goes to Cornyn. Cornyn needs to be defeated in the primary.

This. I think there are some Rs that don't like Gaetz and don't want to be told how to vote. If they vote against his appointment, Musk will throw the full weight of his balance sheet behind their primary challenger next election. This is the epitome of FAFO. We shall see what happens. Exciting nonetheless.

Will have to see how the confirmation hearings go. The other Republicans seem willing to give him a chance but many would abandon him if the confirmation hearings don't go well. The ethics investigation report will most certainly be released and if there's some salacious stuff in there, he's toast.

Who will not support the new POTUS? Who is dumb enough to test Elon's commitment to spend on the primary? Really? Much wiser to go along to get along and let the man have his own hanging rope. To vote "No" or "Against" would mean you personally gain in the vote and that is wrong by itself.

Please don't say such scary things.

ETA: After the red push we just saw I can't (refuse) imagine a situation in which Cronyn would lose to her but the thought isn't one I care for. *shudder*

I doubt that even moves the needle for some. If you think not backing Gaetz is enough to unseat some popular senators because "Elon says so", you need to reevaluate your opinion of the electorate. This election showed they are not sheep.

For the previous election, I believe Cornyn got around 70% of the vote in the primary. It wasn't close.

In the general election, Cornyn won by a much larger margin than Cruz.

Cornyn has a lot of support with the Texas Republican Party and is well funded.

However, part of his campaign four years ago was that his seniority in the Senate gives him a lot of leverage.

As for Dora. I think Ellis likes to have her as his puppet in the Harris County Court.

Wrong. It's much more than that if 20 states actually required an ID to vote. Coincidently, they're the only ones that went for Harris.

Scoreboard says otherwise. You can make all kinds of claims but that doesn't make them true.

And I'm glad he won, but I get tired of all these unfounded claims that the vote count is different than what 50 states actually certify. That's old and worn out. Trump won this election, and we should embrace his upcoming administration instead of circulating old baggage.

Not really. The issue is money. It's extremely difficult to run against the incumbent because of GOP money. That's the number one obstacle. Remove that and you level the playing field.

Elon is going to use his money, his PAC, his X platform and his influence to raise money for the opposition. Between that and Trump's influence, there is a very high probability they get sent home.

Sure…….I can see Senator Kennedy in Louisiana getting canned because he didn't vote for Gaetz, even if he backs other appointments and legislation. Wouldn't move the needle.
