Anyone who spouts that Sandy Hook was a false flag and 9/11 was an inside job deserves all the "hate" they receive.
Don't disagree.
But there is a difference between ridicule and making somebody a social pariah because of stupid things they say or believe, and actively doing everything possible - including using the legal system in an insinuous and evil way - to financially ruin somebody simply because you didn't like something they said.
The simple truth is that Alex Jones has been scapegoated for all of the school shootings that have happened here dating back 20 years where the perpetrators wound up killing themselves and avoiding being prosecuted.
It is the ultimate emotion of helplessness and guilt for adults - mostly parents - to think that they can't protect their children in a setting that is supposed to be safe. They/We want someone to blame, and he became a very easy target for it.
He continues to have freedom of speech and I don't think he should have been liable for the actions of people listening to him on the radio. The people doing the harassing should have been jailed, fined and/or had their own wages garnished, along with prison time for violating restraining orders. If this had happened in the South, it never would have escalated, because the first time one of those nut jobs showed up at some victim's door demanding to see the kids or calling them actors, they would have gotten their heads blown off.
But I also think Alex Jones decided he was above the law, and that has him where he is today. Blatantly ignoring legal obligations and ignoring directives from a judge is about the dumbest thing you can do. What judge is going to not crush you when you act like the justice system doesn't apply to you?
