Yes. Debate club. I have also graduated from basic combat training and AIT (Army).

F16 is a discussion board and as far as I know it's not sentient so I would assume it doesn't have any degrees.

I have zero idea what degrees the designers/implementers/operators have, I would assume a mixture of technical computing degrees and probably some marketing/advertising type degrees.

OK, snark aside, as I believe I understand what you were after (and hope you aren't an English major), I have a computer science/engineering degree.

Waaaay too much damn skule. Not recommended.
I hope you didn't study anesthesiology at UTSW.
Unfortunately, an anaesthesiology residency (4 years) was 2 years too short for my particular taste at the time.
Did someone there do something they shouldn't have done? Not sure why this question.
I have an atrocious next door neighbor that retired as a professor of anesthesiology at UTSW recently. I understand he was not much admired in his 10 to 15 years there. His 38 year marriage recently ended due to his now girlfriend….who was one of his students at the time and is 35 years his junior.

Career has been in tech though. The big history boom of the 90s didn't pan out like I thought
Sorry to hear that the history boom didn't pan out. But hey, maybe at some point. One thing about history, they keep making more of it every single day.

Or

Oh, to do it all over again.

Get you, dear. There were sooo many areas I was so interested in. Marine Biology, Meterology, Psychology for transplant patients (my sister), history, anthropology. Many subjects were fascinaing, enticing to me as a 17 year old freshman (actually a soph because I attended a summer school session to get required courses out of the way, including PE. Ever tried to play tennis in Midland at five o'clock in the afternoon in Midland in July? I lost so much weight I was barely over 110 pounds at five foot eight when I entered A&M.)

Ultimately, I declared for psych with the intent on getting a Masters...but then something happened. I had a roommate (friend from HS) who was a year in front of me and was a psych major. She was in the 'Abnormal Psych" class and they were taking a field trip to Mexia. Avery large facility for people who are functionally...er...mentally disabled.

Back then, it was such a large area, the level of...er...dysfunction were in separate facilities on that campus. And apparently it was all Texas colleges days at Mexia as buses kept pulling up.

Our bus was sent to the "profound" building. No measurable IQ...from babies to aged people, who had their clothes ties onto them, because they could not figure out how to untie knots.

Depressing day, still have many visuals from that day.

But... then it happened to me. We were ushered in (about 60 of us from A&M) the older mentally disabled Day Room where they cwere free to roam around. There was this one woman, with her dress strapped onto her, named Clarabelle.

I'm three rows back behind some guys, but Clalarabell spots me and starting running towards the students standing there. They part to make way and she tackled me, hands around my neck, choking me. Mexia attemdants pulled her off of me.

Changed my major the next week. Can't deal with crazy people one on one. Maybe as group statistic?

Sociology was it.

Wow, that's kind of a scary story about all the mentally challenged people. Sad as well. I see what you mean. Experiences like that can change you forever. It's hard to watch any human being being abused, but there is something about elderly and mentally challenged that is hard.

Not dealing with people, but one summer in college I volunteered at an animal rescue and thought it would be lovely and it just depressed me every single day. You'd see one dog there one day and then he'd be gone the next day and he wasn't adopted and some of the animal cruelty cases that came in there just really upset me.

I still remember feeding a puppy in my lap because it's back was broken from another dog grabbing it. They did the euthanasia in the evening and it was hungry. It can still make me tear up. I also had to drop euthanized animals over at the veterinary school, and I understand they needed them, but I didn't like that either.

I'm a pretty strong person, but you show me stuff like that and it angers and upsets me. Abuse of kids and animals really is a tough thing.

I never did that again. I met my commitment for the summer, but that was it.

I really admire the people that can do that because after that, I never could. I got a few of my animals from shelters over the years, but they're still very hard for me to walk into.

I just didn't know what I wanted to do and I did not appreciate my education at the time.

I too weighed about 105 pounds when I went to A&M and I lived on the fourth floor of a dorm without an elevator so I didn't gain a pound my freshman year!

But it is what it was. I'm retired now so that's all behind me.

I worked in industry and as a prof.

I retired about 5 years ago and went back to school to take more "liberal artsie" classes. You might want to take a look at doing something similar if you have the discretionary income and are willing to put up with being a student again.

I generally take online classes, but an occasional in person.

Fair warning, most profs are pretty bad; none have been as good as SOME of the profs I had at A&M, PhD classes or my MBA. And,at the undergrad level, more and more are adopting classes based on learning systems because they do all the work for the prof.

Also, many post-covid kids are not ready for school. but the universities enrollments have dropped so far that they feel like that they have to take everyone.
