My actual dream job would've been to be an archaeologist, but that is really hard to make money at and it doesn't really pan out as great as it seems. But I still love to read about archaeology and digs and love documentaries on such too.

I wanted to be Indiana Jones I guess without the Nazis. Although they can be interesting too. Not a good way just in a how the hell did that ever happen?

Although at one point, when I was younger, and I would watch reruns of Perry Mason, I wanted to be an attorney. I still like to watch court cases play out on Dateline/48 hours and such and see how they came to the prosecution, etc. is amazing how many cases look like slam dunks and aren't and others that you don't really know how they found them guilty based on the evidence.

I don't think I would've been a defense attorney, though I think I would have been a prosecutor.

I'm a Pathologist (humans), and in my residency we had a contract with the local zoo to do their Pathology. Fascinating stuff.

Interesting; some animal neoplasms look similar to human neoplasms, but are graded much differently (and have a different prognosis). Also, animals have some round cell tumors that human pathologists try to diagnose as lymphomas, but are benign (such as histiocytomas in dogs). However, the majority of neoplasms are similar diagnosis and prognosis. Of course, infectious diseases are similar amongst mammals. Interesting that a zoo would use a human pathologist, when there are veterinary pathologists that would be much cheaper.

It was long ago and the Chair of our department was also a Veterinarian.

I'm one of the 8 or 9 people here that don't have any post graduate degrees apparently.

Didn't see an advantage or need for anything after that. School of hard knocks has gotten me further than any masters would in my world. I do have some certs and what not, but that is it other than experience.

I'm only BS ID. I figured out quickly I didn't need more for my career path and especially at the going cost and time penalty.

I might go back to school when I retire if a second shorter career just for something constructive to do seems interesting and worthwhile.

I have toyed with the idea of getting a JD, but I am pretty sure I wouldn't want to grind it out in the library doing research. I would rather go the Vince Gambino/Jerry Callo route and just get paid to argue with people.

Really thinking hard about a Masters. In between jobs and have an untouched Hazelwood I would love to use on something and not let it go to waste. Just no idea what really. I don't feel an urge or need to expand on my BS so the world is kinda open I guess. I'm using this thread for ideas now.

I know this will sound like a shameless plug for my industry (and it is), but look up something along the lines of unmanned systems.,

It's going to be huge part of the future.

That doesn't meam just what I do - which is UAS. It's UGV, too - think Waymo...And Tesla in the future. And there's also USVs.

Embry-Riddle has a Master's in it and there are a number of others...
