Congratulations Republicans for the trifecta!

Executive Branch with Trump and nice majorities in the Senate and probably the House too (as of this writing, GOP needs 4 more, and marxists need 13)

This is where things usually go south though and we're reminded that the people we put into office don't work for us.

We've been here before in 2017. Here's how that went
The GOP House & Senate seemed unprepared for what the agenda should be if they controlled Congress & the White House.

The democrats still set the agenda and incredibly, republicans HELPED them pass the $1.1 Trillion omnibus spending bill that increased funding for several DNC priorities, had no funding for The Wall, maintained funding for Planned Parenthood, and they failed to end Obamacare.

This was continued with the 2018 $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill.

Incredibly, the GOP also helped the democrats with their bogus Russia Russia Russia claims and allowed a special counsel to be created full of democrats while Jeff Sessions recused himself just two months after Trump took office, crippling Trump for most of his first term.

So... How will the GOP snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this time?
Appoint Cornyn Senate Majority Leader?
Allow the dems to set the agenda again?
Miss this opportunity to remedy the illegal alien disaster?
Forget to pass election integrity laws?

Idk if 2017 is a good indicator of what will happen in 25. In 2017, Trump shocked the world, and really shocked the political class, with his presidential victory. Hillary and Obama started the RussiaGate hoax during the translation. Even relatively staunch conservatives in Congress held up support wondering if all the allegations might be true. Nobody was willing to hitch their horse to a wagon that could potential go off a cliff.

Now all of that is done. Nothing like Russia, Russia, Russia is there to distract anybody on the Republican side. Even if the left tried to invents another hoax, I don't think the Reps would take the bait like they did in 2017.

We now have Trump in office, with a majority in both Houses that don't question his legitimacy. I think the next two years are going down in the history books

Bookmarked for 2027.

Fingers crossed.

Just put some crow in the freezer. Hope it's still good after 3.8 years of freezer burn.

We've haven't had an opportunity like this since Reagan. Get major stuff done early, expose the media and Democrats for their collusion and corruption, stop the wars, win more in 26. Also, expose people on the right. Crenshaw comes to mind.

I would love for the OP to be wrong, but if history serves… look out. The most predictable fight is the "Infight." We have no excuse to fail here.

Paul Ryan and the Rino swamp creatures were hoping the whole Russian collusion was real and they sat on their asses and did nothing to help Trump. They couldn't stand an outsider disrupting their grift of the American taxpayer.

I applaud both the success and failure thread OPs.

I want results. I stopped identifying as Republican a long time ago. The only reason they get my vote is that it is the only way to slow down the most evil organization in America since 1828.

The OP was right, Trump was not prepared and the crony capitalist do nothings in the Republican Party were giving the CommieNazis party everything they wanted, including trying to conduct a coup of a sitting president.

Until proven otherwise everything except real life action is lies and BS.

Prove it.

This. Trump got played way too much his first term. Trusted too many "concerned moderates" who turned on him.

I think them raiding his place two years ago is going to turn out to haunt them because he is never going to let that go, the special council, and all the other which hunts. I think having Elon on his side this time is going to help. But Elon is someone he under no condition can get sideways with.

Choosing Cornyn as Majority Leader appears to be the first step.

You're completely right when you say we always blow it. We are the champions of not taking advantage when we have the ball. I honestly think it might be different this time. I truly think Trump learned a hell of a lot after what's happened to him. I think he'll govern completely different now than had he won in 2020.
