If I ever left the major cities to go to some back water village of 2,000,000 or so ,just walking down the street would cause a small commotion. Pointing staring etc and I am white.
When I saw black people in China in any part not called Shanghai or Beijing it was my experience X2. But not joking, the locals making monkey noises etc. Really really embarrassing and uncomfortable to witness.

It was a family owned business that I first found in the late '70s, but my older brothers remembered going to in the '60s. They had a gas grill to cook the burgers on and they were some of the best burgers in greater southwest Houston. Unfortunately, the second generation owners got old, the help got old, and one of them passed away and they closed in '20 or early '21. They reopened with a food truck in April of '22, as referenced in the article linked by munch96, and when I talked to the owner's son, he said they were working to get the building up to code and get back inside. I don't think they ever got the permit, and as munch said, the property was too valuable as it sat to spend enough to update the restaurant.

They brought back Sasse's predecessor as interim, Kent Fuchs. Has BS, MS and PhD in EE and MS of Divinity as well. Was Provost at Cornell and appointed to NSB by Obama so his bona finds are legit. I didn't quickly find much info on him wrt to DEI and the like though.
