Theater claques are groups of people pre-positioned within an audience, plants if you will, whose role is to clap and applaud at times needed to see if they can get the audience to follow in turn. If they can, they literally manufacture a broader response. This is a more harmless use of the idea.
Could it be -- that all these TikTok "melt down" and other insane reacting videos are "claque" posts -- manufactured, in the sense not of AI, but paid actors. Paid or commissioned to act out the most extreme stupidities, and most vile ideas and notions? To regurgitate the worst of campus Liberal Arts bilge, as if it is a common standard?
Now then, this is not saying many genuinely are not this broken, this insane. But what positing is, they have become so because they are the audience and fans "clapping" to follow those already clapping. They have become and duplicated, what started out as just fake paid actor segments.
This might help explain a situation where it seems most of the Media is write-off crazy, as is Academia, because their agenda is malicious -- they are the pied pipers --- but at the same time -- the ONLY day the Real Americans are heard from -- Election Day aftermath itself --- doesn't seem to line up with all the craziness? The number of insane seem outnumbered EXCEPT for on social media and campuses? Not face to face.

Daughter had a classmate whose family moved to Australia "because of the political climate here." The dad was an Australian citizen who came here on a punting scholarship. The kids were granted dual citizenship through him.
The mom had to go through over a year and a half of hoops and background checks and delays before being allowed into the country, and she still wasn't allowed to work immediately. She seemed shocked and surprised that such a wonderful, liberal country wouldn't just let her immigrate there even though she was married to an Australian.

I think the number of "claques" is definitely more than zero. But I think there are plenty of psychologically unwell people out there who have been given license by social media "tribes" to broadcast their unhinged behavior in an effort to be seen and heard.
Before social media, most of these people would just be the weirdo that everyone tolerated but dismissed. Now they get to make a show of their craziness and get some level of affirmation.
It's really sad. My only solace is that many of them won't reproduce.
