I'm surprised it took this long for someone to start whining about the time change this weekend.

I'm fine leaving it in the Spring Forward time, definitely against a permanent Fall Back time.
I agree. Getting dark at 4 makes days barely usable when accounting for work schedules. Id rather get ready in the morning while it's barely light out over being depressed by so much darkness later in the day. Especially when it's cloudy and snowing.
Or just keep the time set and let schools change the start/end time as needed. Sunrise/set time in North Dakota is a bit different than South Texas. Just let those locales set what is important to them without impacting everyone else.C@LAg said:

Senate voted 100% to end this crap a few years ago, and then it died in the House. When people started asking folks in both the Senate and the House about it, they acted incredibly awkward and dismissive about the whole thing. Was super bizarre. Anyone know any details on wtf was going on, because for a moment there I was really excited.

I am on the eastern edge of the Central Time Zone (FL/AL line) and the sun is going down around 5:15ish right now and we have another 45 days or so to Winter Solstice. Because of where I live relative to sundown in the time zone, I kind of like the time change.
I'd prefer Daylight time, but IDGAF - pick one and stay there.

Clearly, after all of this debate with nothing ever coming of it other than angry people, we need to switch to one time zone for the entire country. It works for China, and it might shut people up here who don't like the current system, but only as long as there's no change twice a year.
I'd prefer year round Daylight Savings, but in the grand scheme of thing its really not a big deal that it changes twice a year.

Us idiots that have to work normal business hours like the extra hour of daylight in the evening. More daylight in the early morning is irrelevant if I'm at work.The Kraken said:

Exactly. Sounds like we need to start work an hour earlier once the time changes. Since most everyone has set work schedules, it should be easy to implement, no? And then we won't be idiots anymore.
In Arizona we're standard time year round. I'll have to remember college games kick off at 10AM starting next week instead of 9AM.
It should be noted that states can opt out of daylight savings time and switch to standard time year around.
The only two that do, I think, are Arizona (except for the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii.
