I don't believe that anyone who actually watched hadn't already made up their minds. This is a political junkie even.
As presented by ABC is was propaganda, and they did a reasonable good job of that.
More people will see tweets/memes/FB comments/etc than watched this.
Sure it's frustrating that Trump didn't do better, but given the set up, it likely wouldn't have made much difference, the moderators would have just changed their responses to make him look bad, or "fact checked" him mid sentence.

The ABC moderators shaped their questions to ensure that. Anyone paying attention could clearly see they asked attacking questions towards Trump. You say Harris won. No, I think it's a trap. We should all know by now that trump is not disciplined enough to have such a debate and stick to the issues without going on random tangents or losing the plot. They know how to bait him

I liked how the moderators were ready with the city manager statement on cats immediately.
I had a friend recently tell me that all the ducks in their neighborhood pond disappeared. There was a legal immigrant that didn't realize they were essentially pets and was eating them.
To say that doesn't happen in America means you live a sheltered life and don't know that this is something other cultures do.

Same critique I always have with Trump in debates: unprepared and unfocused. Obvious that CNN colluded with the Harris campaign on the questions and their follow up. Harris had a monologue for each question while Trump spoke of the cuff and meandered. Harris is stupid but not stupid enough to have a second debate after doing well in that one.

All the questions were pretty obvious. She practiced and stayed on script. It's not that hard.
Trump didn't stay on script, rambled, and never challenged her to get her off script.
If you were having a conversation with someone like Harris you would think they were dumb.

A lot of the questions prompted Harris to answers.
For Harris, the whole thing was a well rehearsed lie. It's sad that it makes people think she won.
I don't think Trump did a good job of showing the contrast between what she has been and what she now claims she is. But he did have some good lines. Its just that everyone expects that.
If you go by expectations, I'd say she won and she was allowed to pretend she is something she isn't. If you go by substance or memorable lines, I'd say Trump won, especially about the border and Ukraine.
