Well, Harris never got put on the spot by them. They softballed her all night long while throwing Nolan Ryan fastballs at Trump's head with all their fact checking.

I'm not a Trump fan but that was ****ing embarrassing for ABC how biased they were.

One big point that stuck out to me.

Trump mentioned people eating pets, etc.

Muir immediately "fact checked" by saying "since you brought up Springfield, Ohio, blah blah blah".

Except Trump did NOT bring up Springfield, Ohio. He just mentioned people eating pets.

So, that was already a planned attack on Trump.

By bait, I presume you are referring to her "people leave your rallies early" taunt.
And yeah, I too thought he should have just said "that's silly" and proceeded with facts.

IMHO, his worst lie was claiming he handled COVID well, and hers was claiming that she will be able to do anything about how the states set abortion policy in each state. He was right to point out that she is making lots of claims that she has no history of successfully doing.

Unfortunately, I think you're right, but it was disappointing to read comments on here from people who thought it was a great closing.

Kamala probably can't rebut that directly, because she would effectively be downplaying her own role as VP, but her campaign, PACs, etc, can do thst more tactfully, and will. It's easy.
