I think if there was a government conspiracy it revolved around deliberately shorting Trump's security and hoping some deranged individual tried something. I do not think there was a second shooter or anything like that. I think Crooks was a lone wolf almost certainly on psychotropics, and possibly trans. Through gross incompetence of the SS he found an unprotected roof and got off some shots.

My opinion is willing to change with new evidence, of course.

How many days passed between Trump's commitment to post-inaugural act to declassify JFK assassination documents and an attempt was made for him? Likely it is the same organization responsible?

Trump says anything to anyone and there's always a leaked recording of him saying it. Theres somehow leaked recordings of Trump talking to his own lawyers.

But Trump's ear blown off on live tv and we don't have a recording of it.

We can't get confirmation of any other fact to date but DO have confirmation that audio recordings DO NOT exist.

The one piece of evidence that would answer all our outstanding questions has been now confirmed not to exist.

So now the investigation is reliant on people's recollection of what was passed on the radio, any text messages that are recoverable and perhaps some sort of a log from their operations center and any 911 calls recorded by the county.

If this incident were to have occurred prior to the smartphone era, we'd have very little idea what happened. The fact that we looking at raw video and audio from every conceivable angle is unprecedented.

I am still, again, amazed thinking people consider the idea/facts in this shooting (and subsequent events such as Biden's withdrawal) to be a 'conspiracy theory' as to whether Crooks shooting was facilitated within the government/security/intelligence community. It's mostly a factual run down of the current reporting/what is known, with some commentary interspersed of course.

If Trump wins, he and the entire GOP need to unite and make this a centerpiece issue and keep hammering the F out of it. Do not let up. It's the only way there MIGHT be some sort of resolution or consequence. Prob still a long shot, but if that doesn't happen, 100% chance that ZERO will ever come from this.

Secret Service has issued a request for bids for some new toys.

What's more, the weapons system must be offered in a Right and Left-hand configuration. Additionally, It has to be an off-the-shelf rifle, commercially available and in serial production.

The required calibers are 300 Winchester magnum, 300 Norma Magnum, 300 Precision Rifle Cartridge, and .308 Winchester. The rifle must have a single stage trigger and the metal parts must have a subdued, rust/corrosion resistant finish.
The rifle must be accurate within 1 MOA. It can weigh no heavier than 16 pounds, 0 ounces without accessories (300 Winchester Magnum configuration).

All weapons procured under this contract shall be of new manufacture and offerers have to be the OEM manufacturer. Rebuilt, overhauled, remanufactured, or "seconds" shall not be accepted.

Furthermore, offerers cannot submit more than two (2) specific nomenclature model firearms from each contractor shall be submitted for solicitation testing and considered for contract award. There are no set asides, making this a full and open competition.

Although they are asking for a multi-caliber option, the deliverables for the down select specify a rifle chambered in 300 WIN MAG and it must come with one magazine, an extra chassis and a suppressor.

They've already selected a suppressor, the Thunder Beast Arms Magnus-SR 30 caliber Suppressor, with secondary retention non-timed brake (SR NTB). Interestingly, if a candidate rifle fails utilizing the requested suppressor a Thunder Beast Arms Ultra 9 shall be installed and tested. If the rifle fails with the Ultra 9 then the submission will be eliminated.

The ammunition used for PHASE II evaluations will be Berger 300 Winchester Magnum 215 gr Hybrid target load or Black Hill Ammunition 300 Winchester Magnum 210 gr Sierra OTM and be supplied by the USSS.

Test firing during the down select will be accomplished by a minimum of four shooters selected from a cross section of USSS end users and all shall be qualified Law Enforcement personnel. So as not to influence the shooters, the weapon manufacturer and model information markings will be obscured from user (via duct tape).

Additionally, during the down select evaluation, the candidate rifles will be mounted with an Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56mm scope or equivalent.

Is this a change in weapon choice, limitations, features, etc. than what they already have?

No. The gear the USSS have in chambering, and optics, are what every sniper/wannabe wishes they could afford. The shot they finally took on Crooks was neither difficult nor requiring better gear looking forward. Perhaps the only 'excusable' thing was the sniper looking off glass a second time after the shots fired (once stand down no longer applied), because Crooks was frankly too…close for the regular optics.

The southern team (that finally shot) was also firing win mag probably.



Again, a 308/win mag etc. is…while not the most 'modern' cartridge plenty to take out an unarmored human at a hundred (or thousand) yards. The questions about a 'second shooter' I dismiss as absurd but this RFP is just a standard 'we want to buy some new kit/gear looking forward' thing imho.
