So there should be at least one hole in the metal roof. Flex-Seal tape FTMFW.

I think Pennsylvania State police were there too, maybe one of their snipers shot and missed...From everything I have seen, the local PD was just there to control traffic, and they got pulled in by the bystanders that were seeing the assassin climbing the roof so they went to investigate.

How does a local LE professional sniper with superior optics, a superior weapon system, superior ballistics, superior training and a fixed and stable shooting position miss?

A professional sniper misses while a 20-year old kid on a dangerously sloped hot tin roof executes a perfect shot on shot #1.

The 15 seconds that elapses between first shot and 10th and final shot is inexplicable.

Agreed on all that. I'm hung up on the last possible moment. The very last clear chance to avoid imminent disaster which was the time between pointing a rifle at a cop and shots fired. All the timelines we've seen so far seem to omit that key fact.

But it's clear that we looking at failures stacked on top of failures here as you describe.
That is defined as "immediately after" by the police that fell off the roof.

A second? A min?
Somehow that key fact eludes us.

1. How many seconds elapsed between somebody pointing a rifle at the cop and Trump getting shot in the ear?

2. Did either one of the two cops involved in peeking over the roof get on the radio and call in an IMMINENT threat over the radio?

3. If they did immediately call it in, exactly how many seconds elapsed between USSS being on notice of an IMMINENT threat and Trump being shot in ear?

For item 2, a local authority, the sheriff I believe, said that both officers radioed about the shooter immediately after the officer fell off the roof. He said that they were on an open channel that should have been heard by all in site LEO, including the SS.

At that point, the SS should have surrounded Trump and pulled him off. That was probably the sixth or seventh chance they had to prevent the shooting.
With what they knew, the start of Trump's program should had been delayed. Trump should have been pulled off several minutes before the shooting based upon actions that caused the policeman to check the roof and people in the crowd yelling.

To rehash what has been said 100 times already, it either was total and complete incompetence by the SS, or it was intentionally set up to assassinate a political rival.

If the FBI and SS and the Biden administration have their way, we will never know which one for certain because both options make them look bad.

The sites broadcastify.com and the related radioreference.com are where the police scanner nerds hang out these days. This is a pretty good thread explaining the onsite comms plan between local LE and USSS. The consensus seems to be that local cops do not communicate directly with USSS on a shared channel, but there was an on-site command post where a human operator would have been relaying messages as needed.

Was it the local LE sniper hindered by trees? If so, could explain the miss. If he was hindered by trees to the closest rooftop, why was he set up there?

So we are to now believe two things: a local PD sniper missed the gunman lying flat on a roof and the shot the USSS took was a one in a million shot?
So these shots were reasonable and two snipers within 200 yards had a miss and the other was nearly impossible?

But how much was intentional "incompetence"? I do think there has been an intentionally lax approach to protecting Trump, with direction coming from high in our govt. Understaffed. Under qualified.

They set the table and were just waiting for a nutter to finally come along, leaving themselves plausible deniability in the end

To miss from that position they must have had Mr Magoo for the sniper. The shooter should have been in spear range from that sniper location.

Agreed. And they only took one shot. Just one. With a 5mph crosswind. With something .300 or more powerful - and missed from short range? Unless they were using a 5.55 rifle - in which case what the hell??
I don't think there was a second sniper - the first round cracked by Trumps ear and he paused. If there was a skilled sniper, the next two rounds wouldn't have missed. They need to open up on who shot what and when.

The sniper from PA state force has been suspended for several days. It was for standard discharge of weapon. PA spokesman said they weren't sure if sniper bullet hit but that he fired his official.

Don't worry about the trees blocking the sniper view. Hypothetical example - Sniper team 1 looks east. Team 2 covers north and west. Team 3 looks everywhere else. If one of those these is blocked to see something, that's okay. As long as every spot can be covered by somebody, and we know whose responsibility it is.

Just make sure that somebody can see every area.

At that point SS should have pivoted and replaced the roof team but they didn't and allowed the roof to be open
