Not sure this belongs here, but going to share. Car is in the shop this week, so had to take a Lyft to DIA this morning for a work trip. Driver is a proclaimed lifetime democrat, but we have a nice conversation. At the end of it, she says something to the effect of "I'll say one thing, I always assumed if a shorting event happened against the right, that they would be claiming the same things regarding gun control that the left does. I can admit I was wrong and it's making me rethink many things I've thought over the years". Apparently it's also helped that her husband has recently got her out shooting and learning about gun safety, and she's enjoyed it. Another piece that's helped her sway is that they've recently inherited a ranch from family, and she's seeing more about how taxes drain them. So apparently some people can really change their lifelong opinions, just need to work on them and expose them to something different.

Expose them to…facts?

I'm still in the camp that it was gross incompetence. DC is the worst run group of misfits in the world. Incredible that some people want them to control our healthcare and retirement. 90% of the 4th branch needs to be fired because they are absolutely useless.

It seems pretty convenient for SS and brass to throw local law enforcement under the bus…

I know it will sound like I am just being snarky but people that regularly use holsters, either OWB or IWB in design are normally pretty automatic at getting a pistol in or out. Just the muscle memory of doing it regularly means you don't have to think about it.

So if you are struggling to re holster it tells me you don't have muscle memory for the action. If you don't have muscle memory for the simple parts why would anyone think you have muscle memory built for the actual shooting?

100% correct

In my experience I've seen it a hundred times when for instance they put a desk jockey LEO that's never drawn their weapon in the line of duty and send them out on the street and they become Barney Fife. It's common these days with this DEI movement. I've worked with some crackerjack women that are sharp and good, but every one of them had active combat experience and skills and it shows. That said everyone has their limitations male or female. I know some terrible males I would never want covering my six, just like I know female I would never hesitate to work with.

Or they were in shock. Very different scenario pulling down on the everyday criminal and witnessing the president almost assassinated on your watch. I dont blame anyone after the shots were fired. Trump was protected and the threat neutralized. What concerns me is that the best, and really only sniper's nest in the area was not secured. This isnt like dealey plaza where you are surrounded by tons of buildings. This was in a field with only like a handful of structures

I would hope that the SS agents would train and train to the point that agents would not be in shock if their assignment is shot at. It is their job. If agents panic at the moment for which they are trained, they have no business being on the force.

If she was on temporary assignment with the SS but actually works for DEA or somewhere else (or the counterfeit investigation wing of SS), then her confusion would be understandable, but she had no business being there.

According to the local newspaper which is the source, the "snipers" inside the building were local LEOs.

So they saw a guy scoping out the building, using a rangefinder to the stage, and return a third time with a backpack, and didn't think it was enough to engage him? My God. What were they waiting for?
He probably left them a box of donuts inside on the table … they weren't moving

I could tell you two stories.

One is everyone is so incompetent at their job that this shouldn't be surprising

The other is they allowed someone to get into place because they were told to or were in on it.

There was a rumor posted earlier that she was on loan from the DEA for this event.

It doesn't matter. She looked lost, and a properly trained SS agent should know exactly what to do.

This does play into my theory that SS thought he was friendly and didn't want to fire. If they knew assets were stationed there at the building, and they may not have wanted to engage.

Def an error but not a grand conspiracy.

Also, the fact that snipers were inside that building means there was still a lot security we could not see stationed around.

This is the problem. The incompetence was so catastrophically bad that it's difficult to believe. That opens the door to wild ass speculation.

Actually there is. Incompetence and malfeasance. Incompetence has been the hallmark of this administration.. on immigration, on Afghanistan withdrawal, on the economy. Why would this be any different?
Malfeasance because the hatred of the Dc bureaucrats and Democrats towards Trump meant he didn't have enough security when a nutcase actually tried to kill him.

I don't find this credible. Snipers inside a bldg with no vantage point and didn't confront a suspicious person. How come they saw the backpack but no rifle?

Just told my wife the same thing. These are the only two options. Although there might be a third... That they wanted everyone to see this guy on the roof but there was another shooter further away on a similar trajectory?

I dunno. It just doesn't make sense.

There was another shooter (the pro), further back, and they wanted everyone to see the patsy (which is why everyone saw the patsy). This makes the most sense out of everything…

This would be some real MK Ultra **** then.

Reminds me of that story out of Gleenwood, Co a while back where the kid broke into an amusement park with a rifle and offed himself before the park opened. Thats another story that got memory holed.

Saw on FOX this evening that he had explosives in his car and some type of transmitter device on him when they got to him on the rooftop.

Also, from various other outlets we are able to gather he was always a loner/quiet kid in highschool who never talked to anyone, and at the same time was an outspoken conservative in what seems to be a class full of liberal kids.

Another classmate seems to have an amazingly detailed memory and is able to remember him wearing Trump tee shirts in 8th grade.

As more and more stuff comes out, I'm really starting to think the local donut eaters F Ed this up. That is still no excuse for the SS who is supposed to have all this under their control but if what we are hearing is true, the local cops should have at least question this guy.. not just let him roam around…. Now as to who this kid was or was he put there by someone or there as a loan wolf, we will never know that
aggiebird02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
They wanted us to see the kid, he was the patsy…

Edit: It also addresses the question of why would the CIA send out an inexperienced kid to do the job? Because the wasn't making the initial kill shot, he was just taking the blame.

The real trigger man flubbed only because Trumped turned his head…

A coworker (former law enforcement) had a good question today. What concrete evidence do we have that he was actually the shooter? Everyone heard shots, there was 1 fatality and 3 injured and this kid was on the roof with a rifle. They quickly shot him so he has no story to tell, and every video we have seen goes toward the ground as soon as shots are heard. Perhaps there is better video out there that i haven't saw yet. This gets kinda far into conspiracy land (even for me) but my coworker has a point.
