In my experience I've seen it a hundred times when for instance they put a desk jockey LEO that's never drawn their weapon in the line of duty and send them out on the street and they become Barney Fife. It's common these days with this DEI movement. I've worked with some crackerjack women that are sharp and good, but every one of them had active combat experience and skills and it shows. That said everyone has their limitations male or female. I know some terrible males I would never want covering my six, just like I know female I would never hesitate to work with.
Or they were in shock. Very different scenario pulling down on the everyday criminal and witnessing the president almost assassinated on your watch. I dont blame anyone after the shots were fired. Trump was protected and the threat neutralized. What concerns me is that the best, and really only sniper's nest in the area was not secured. This isnt like dealey plaza where you are surrounded by tons of buildings. This was in a field with only like a handful of structures

If you doing security, that person is immediately a contact until it cleared. Somebody figures out what the **** is going on with the guy and somebody has eyes on him and somebody goes to investigate and clears it as a known threat one way or the other.
Anybody that ever worked any kind of security perimeter will tell you this is how it works.
But it seems like that's not what happened here.

I would like to know the height at the apex that the SS was on and the building where the shooter was. Wonder if they had 5 ot 6 feet height advantage and still not able to see him because of the slope where shooter was? Someone could have been on that water tower just glassing. All seems a bit strange to me. One odd thing after Another. Too much if you ask me.

There are more buildings around there that seem to be tall enought for line of sight. May be wrong. But if so, why were snipers only on that one building? If other buildings did have line of sight were they scanning that area too. The only pictures of the SS snipers shows them looking the way of the AGR building not scanning elsewhere? Just curious why this was or just not seeing this footage that I have seen.

Not sure this belongs here, but going to share. Car is in the shop this week, so had to take a Lyft to DIA this morning for a work trip. Driver is a proclaimed lifetime democrat, but we have a nice conversation. At the end of it, she says something to the effect of "I'll say one thing, I always assumed if a shorting event happened against the right, that they would be claiming the same things regarding gun control that the left does. I can admit I was wrong and it's making me rethink many things I've thought over the years". Apparently it's also helped that her husband has recently got her out shooting and learning about gun safety, and she's enjoyed it. Another piece that's helped her sway is that they've recently inherited a ranch from family, and she's seeing more about how taxes drain them. So apparently some people can really change their lifelong opinions, just need to work on them and expose them to something different.
There has to be recordings of 911 calls that came in reporting this guy well before the shooting. So we'll eventually have a full picture of that in due course.

Secret Service had snipers INSIDE the building the assassin used. They took pictures of him. They watched him pull out a range finder to get his exact distance to Trump. They radioed the Secret Service command post about the assassin.

This guy should have never even gotten a chance to get on the building. Geez. Calling this a security failure is not near strong enough.
According to the local newspaper which is the source, the "snipers" inside the building were local LEOs.
So they saw a guy scoping out the building, using a rangefinder to the stage, and return a third time with a backpack, and didn't think it was enough to engage him? My God. What were they waiting for?
