Hard to have a press that can really hold the gov't accountable when they're all afraid of losing access to the propaganda and the $$$ that comes along with it.
If a CEO of a company rambled like this when asked questions in an earnings call, the stock would tank and they'd get voted off.
A self-respecting reporter would ask him why he's rambling and press him on it, or at least keep pushing follow-up questions until they get a real answer for the people.
