Only a partial here south of Houston, but still pretty neat. Definitely a difference in the light, took a few looks through the welding hood. About like 2017, but there were less clouds then and the change in light was much more pronounced than today.

Thanks but didn't matter. Clouds were still too thick.

We had a lot of cloud cover and it was still pretty cool. Super jealous of the folks that got a cut in the clouds, must have been amazing.

I had low expectations of the event, but in downtown Dallas, the clouds parted right on time…it was very unique, I'll give that much.

Almost as exciting as Geraldo opening Al Capone's tomb.

Clouds parted in Houston as well to catch a good look.

Definitely cool to see.

I am in Austin. There was a lot of cloud cover, but it was still very cool.

Got lucky in north Austin and the clouds parted perfectly before the eclipse and lasted the entire totality. One of the coolest things I've seen.

Very cool. Got to see about 1/2 covered, then all but about an 1/8th covered. Cloud cover messed it up a bit.

Watched it in Richardson at my girlfriend's workplace. Clouds cleared just in time. OMG. Now I see why folks get obsessed with chasing these things around the world.

That's what the local crackhead is for. Paid him 40 dollars to mow.

I was telling my kids the gypsy was running around shrinking the heads of kids during the evil omen sun moon. My youngest doesn't want to goto bed tonight as when it got much darker and cooler she freaked out. Greatness.

Between Brady and Llano. Clouds rolled in but we had a good break. Not my picture but the solar flare was very obvious with the naked eye. Was a super bright orange pinpoint dot towards the end of totality.

Really glad we didn't let the forecast keep us at home. I expect my kids will never forget it. Definitely worth a day out of school.

Astronomers have known there's going to be a total eclipse in 2024 (as well as many others) for hundreds of years. This isn't some random action from god because of what's happened over the last few years.
Hard to imagine I am actually going to defend MTG but if you believe as she does
yes the date time and location of this eclipse has been known for hundreds of years
But God also knew the wicked ways we people would have been guilty of so his warning was scheduled because he knew we would be wicked

Personally I ascribe to the belief that to believe one truly knows and understands the will of God is a form of heresy

So all eclipses are a warning? Or only certain ones? What's the Biblical basis for this?

There is no area on earth that will not experience an eclipse at some point. It's not a warning from God.

We are all sinners. The path of totality missed California but went right through Texas. Why God not warn California?

One could as easily conclude the eclipse is a sign of God showing who he is smiling upon. Those in his favor get to see a wondrous sight. The wicked miss out
