Yes, a family friend who I was mentoring called. She was very upset. Evidently a male came out as identifying as a female. Would not shower with males any more and went to female crapper. They were up in arms and lost one of their crappers to stay away from him/her. Luckily it was second semester of her senior year. I d not know what happened after that.

Wasn't being sarcastic. This was something I assembled during FOW so it's likely out of date. Some units had 30%+ female fish classes.

The original response to his secret plans being revealed were posted on the "you know you were in the Corp at A&M when" Private Group on Facebook.

I am pretty sure this is the correct group, but I am not a Facebooker or member of that private group, so I am not 100% sure.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/230941713608295/

I was sent a screen shot from a CT dad when it first was announced (Black screenshot on OP (first page) which came from a cadet apparently after the announcement.

When he found out his plans were revealed, then he posted the response, and then another dad sent me the text of the facebook post, which has been released on page 4 of this thread I believe.

You can call hiring a 100 mil football coach sport's silliness and I am sure some who don't care about or don't like the Corps will call this a non issue. The fact is it is a major problem

Thank you sir and everyone else who is helping with this absolute disaster happening in the Corps right now. I'm a current pisshead and honestly the future is looking bleak. Outfit culture is the one of the main things that makes me interested in the Corps and is a big reason I joined, I'm in a nall-male Army outfit. We've been silenced and put on the back burner by Commandant staff and corps staff, completely over run by the new Commandant. He told the juniors and seniors in a meeting one Friday PT that they were a "lost cause" and said that trying to convince them of what he was trying to push was fruitless because he knew they wouldn't agree with it as it would kill the Corps. He has meetings with the fish every Monday morning (Which interrupts outfit PT) shoving this new agenda down their throats which is odd because they already have a SOMS class for that but I guess it's not enough. He tried a Friday meeting in the morning (Which interrupted training time) with the pissheads but got hissed the entire time and never showed his face at one again. So now we get have no morning formations during the week except for Mondays (BUT THE FISH AREN'T EVEN THERE). We can't smoke the freshmen and instill discipline for their mess ups except for when the stars alline throughout the week. We can't push them during formation for their mess ups. Our training times have been cut in half and are heavily regulated now. All of these changes have made me and my buddies extremely apathetic towards the Corps as a whole, but not to our outfit. I fear that if these changes go through and we are split up in different dorms and hallways, and the fish are in their own dorms, outfit cultures as a whole will disappear within a year or two and every outfit will be the same apathetic, just here for the scholarship, do as little as possible outfit. There was recently a poll on one of the Corps main meme pages called "Qadets" on Instagram asking people if they agree with the change and the results were a staggering 1230 to 54 not in favor of the changes. It's a very scary time and I encourage you to stay strong for us and the future of the Corps! TRUST ME WE ARE IN FULL SUPPORT OF GETTING RID OF THESE CHANGES BUT A MAJORITY ARE WORRIED OF THE REPERCUSSIONS THAT WOULD EFFECT OUR FUTURE IN THE CORPS AND THE MILITARY. That's why I'm so grateful for you all. Best, P.H 26'

I can assure you that athletic department and many academics hate the Corps and everything it represents. they happily take the money all the D&C former cadets provide though. Many of the major donors to University were in the Corps. Most were D&C who went to found or take over large businesses. What would Kyle field look like if not for the donations of former Corps members. There is a reason the Corps is called the keepers of the spirit. They provide the funding that makes everything possible. Sure non-regs contribute as well but without former Cadets none of it exists
I don't think the Athletic department hates the Corps. Almost every coach we have had has spoken highly of the Corps and many have visited the quad both alone and with players.

Jimbo came to Fish Yell after FOW a few years back and brought players to dinner on the Quad I believe.
Schloss had the Corps baseball uniforms made and has been very complimentary of the Corps.
Buzz teaches a leadership class and I am not sure if it is exclusively the Corps, but I saw the video and Corps kids were in it.

Now the faculty and possibly some admin? Many of them over the years are anti-military, super liberal, etc, so I have no doubt there is some of them that don't like the Corps.

You need to tell your buddies and all the upperclassmen to get their parents to reach out to their local county A&M clubs and get these kind of messages out.

Someone draft a document telling the details of how the Corps has already changed, how there is no discipline, everyone is disenfranchised and what the additional changes will do to the Corps.

I started this thread to make former CTs aware, but I am only reaching a small number that visit Texags.Politics board.

We are trying to fix this, but he doesn't care what former CTs think that graduated 20 years ago. You need to get the Corps to actively fight this through the Corps parents and county A&M clubs. There are some rich Ags with names on buildings that attend meetings in San Antonio, Dallas, & Houston for example. They aren't on Texags and may not be aware what is going on.

Some people are born into greatness, others have it thrust upon them. Go make a difference!

Which outfit? If it's a BQ outfit, you can't force those fish into CT units without just cause. And if by 30% you mean 3 out of class of 10, that doesn't mean much either.

Pulling stunts on campus isn't going to affect his decision. It will just prove that there is no discipline (in his eyes).

Getting parents and especially the A&M county and other funding groups aware is the goal. They need to realize that they are pissing off 1000s of former cadets who contribute lots of money to A&M and especially the Corps.

Dumb idea. Give cadets a choice; integrated, all male, all female... what does the current recruiting data reflect between the two? Grades? Retention? Which outfits have waiting lists to join? Which outfits consistently recruit better than others? What do those successful outfits looks like? Why are we not replicating success stories on the quad? This secret plan decimates successful outfit programs. And why? What is the reasoning? There is no logic behind it.

How about this, give them all a choice of any outfit? No more designated all male units. If they haze a female out of the unit, then maybe they should get some special attention. There is enough females to go around. I've actually counted them, primarily because I felt that my old unit had a disproportionate amount versus other integrated, and definitely versus all male units.
You don't have to like it, but I prefer this over the currently proposed changes. I recognize that it's not an either or decision.

Like I said, when my son did Spend the Night over half of the students there were staying with the very small number of All Male Outfits. You are taking the position some of the Corps Leadership (not students, employees) were taking which was annoyance and as if this is a bad thing.

Here's a thought. People like All Male and All Female outfits. Not everyone but most do. The opportunity to be in an All Male or All Female outfit is a very appealing one because you bond a hell of a lot closer than if you have an integrated outfit because the rules are the level of connection is going to be different. You can't say and do the same things with a buddy of a different gender and all the rules have to change to reflect that. Can it work? Sure, it just isn't the same.

The great thing about having the environment we have in the Corps at A&M is you CAN offer different experiences. You can join an outfit that is more tailored to what you are looking for. As it stands more kids if given a choice would rather be in an outfit where everyone is the same gender and that's fine. For those who want an integrated outfit they should be able to do so and that's fine.

The biggest thing I am not seeing anywhere in the long diatribe from the Commandant is any reflection on what students who join the Corps are looking to get out of the experience and why they join. Lots of obsession with buzzwords and process and obsession over retention. Some random examples of feedback that likely reflect what the Commandant wants to hear. I don't see anything about "What do current cadets really love most about the Corps?" "What do they want to see changed?" "Why do prospective cadets NOT join the Corps?"

Listen to your "customers" and what it is they are looking for and incorporate that where possible. We aren't an academy, we aren't an All Corps school like The Citadel, and we aren't a regular ROTC attachment. We are a unique institution with a tremendous opportunity.

I've got a son who is a Junior right now. He's an exceptional student and very involved in EC's as well as being athletic. His Dad and his Grandad were in the Corps and he grew up calling my Corps buddies his "Uncles". He has virtually no desire to join the Corps and I can't find a good reason to tell him otherwise. The experiences of my buddies kids that have joined, stayed, left, or didn't join even though they would have been great cadets has done little to change my mind with the Commandant leadership we have had.

General Michaelis it isn't about YOU and what YOU want. It's about the students and letting them learn and develop leadership skills on their own with you providing the guardrails and safe environment not micromanaging it to be whatever you are dreaming up in your head you want it to be.

WTF. Did this really happen?
I know of one that transitioned and marched at Final Review on the first pass as a male and the second as a female. Then after the second pass went around to any of the guys "she" thought would be uncomfortable and did everything "she" could to get reactions out of them because "she" knew that "she" was bulletproof and could do anything and would have loved to destroy a few normal guys careers if "she" could. Fortunately none took the bait.

Lots more stories on this but I won't go further as I don't trust what might happen with that information on a public forum. Let's just say they embrace the Woke at every opportunity and all of the pressure is on everyone else to adjust to the whims of the Trans.

'86 BC-3 here.

I joined the corps because I lost my dad at a young age and I needed an opportunity to learn how to become a man. No integrated outfit could offer me that opportunity. Why? Because if a girl can do it, anyone can!

Our country has few institutions remaining that BC-3 offered a kid like me who had to fight like hell competing because my dad died early.

Yikes.

Goes to show folks. You always respect the rank but just because you have a star for that rank doesn't mean you're not a piss poor leader.

This is one side of the story but if even a quarter of this is true, we have a serious breach of leadership running our beloved Corps.

Okay, I should have guessed the woke mobsters have infested the commandants office. In light of this you guys have monumental problems that will not end well. I don't know how you guys can fix this problem other than voting out Democrats. It sounds as if the CoC is turning into a woke hot mess and implode on its own, or worse be targeted again by the DOJ same as it was in the 60's.

I agree with everything you posted except this part. There was an all female unit years ago. I wasn't a part of the corps then but I'm sure that unit wasn't treated in a way a soldier, statesman and knightly gentleman should. Additionally with that logic, you could justify an all-white unit. It's what some cadets could really want, right? This isn't about what the cadets/recruit want, necessarily. It's what's best for the graduates of Texas A&M. Notice it didn't say anything about what's best for the military which I think is where we are misaligned with the commandant. He needs to realize that he's to be a steward of all Aggie cadets not just contract or what his prior job obligated him to be.

We and the commandant is not addressing the 'why aren't people joining the corps' part. Or the why aren't people whipping out. With his proposal, to some extent we are throwing out the baby with the bath water.

IIRC, the all female outfit was shutdown for massive hazing issues between females. That was like 30 years ago. It's high time to give women another chance and opportunity to be with their own.

Your post didnt really refute anything he said, just set up a bunch of straw men that have nothing to do with what we are discussing. Contrary to your beliefs, every corps member, integrated outfit or not, deals with women in leadership positions both above and below them, regardless of whether they are actually in the same outfit.
