Every Tesla owner needs to read their owners manual. There is a not obvious lever you can pull to open the door. I

From what I've recently learned from reading and Elon's own statements on Rogan's podcast Tesla has two levels of glass, the standard level is the normal safety glass in ALL vehicles

The upgrade is Elon's own double laminated safety glass that is close to bulletproof and likely won't break easily especially underwater with the ambient pressures applied.

Not just drunk she was hammered. Several posters called that one early, the first if I recall mentioned the Chinese New Year as a catalyst

Hope they didn't lynch that innocent truckdriver that never actually existed

they might also need to update the manual to instruct owners not to get hammered and drive into bodies of water in the middle of the night.

Article says the lady she was on the phone with eventually launched a kayak and paddled it out to where she was at. But it sounds like they couldn't get her out. They might not have been able to bust out a window.

Yikes, her BAL was .23, which technically wasn't illegal since she was driving on private property. Still a really dumb thing to do.

The WSJ had an article a week or so back about the difficulty in busting windows on newer vehicles. If you don't bust it or roll it down before it goes under, it becomes much more difficult once you're at pressure under water.

From a product liability perspective I wouldn't think that would pass a common sense review. Not to pick on this lady's death in particular but vehicles fall into water daily throughout the country and in places like Florida etc. that is a real risk. Most are aware I won't ever buy one but this makes me a little wary of even sliding into one as an (occasional) uber passenger.

Johnson City has had 2 traffic lights since 2006, at least

Post got deleted. The post said that the heiress that drowned owned the company that the Maryland ship belonged to.

Ms Chao was chairwoman and chief executive of her family's shipping business, the Foremost Group, which operates a global fleet of bulk carrier ships. One of the ships knocked down the Key Bridge in Baltimore yesterday. Looking even more fishy.

Wrong.

The MV Dali is a container ship which is owned by Grace Ocean Pte Ltd. out of Singapore.

The Foremost Group is a US based company which operates a fleet of dry bulk carriers, which is a completely different class/type of vessel.
