I don't follow Jack but this was shared with me earlier. There's certainly nothing in the US that compares to this aesthetic, which is what Tucker mentioned...

Grand Central Station in NYC is at least comparable

Any city? ANY city? No need for hyperbolic sycophantic banter. I appreciate the bold interview so we can get insight into Putin but you don't have to go that far.

Tucker is a believer in a sort of populist authoritarian nationalism insofar as it keeps things neat and orderly and the trains run on time and the people's need are met so he can sort of admire the ability of a strong man to do that sort of thing.

I think it sort of glosses over the cultural elements involved and that Moscow is still the showpiece of Russia, and is not permitted to be disorderly by the authorities. How they do that out of sight isn't always so pleasant or civil.
Yes he is a supporter of populist nationalism. He likes the strong man. And he is now an influencer. But there is something wrong with him and I can't put my finger on it. But he is building a cultish following in the same manner as DJT on the one side and Obama on the other.

Agreed. Sometimes I agree with him, other times he is plainly spinning or crafting a narrative. He's an odd duck that seems to get satisfaction in an impulsive contrarianism. If it's institutional or if it is a common or popular view, he seems suspicious of it regardless of the merits, and builds a narrative around that.

Sometimes he is right to be suspicious. Other times it borders on ridiculous.

I like Carlson and that Putin interview was good. But his humping Russia on being a great place and Russian having it better than American is weird!

Agreed. Although he would have not been out of bounds if he would have just said that our cities are clearly decaying and that our bad areas are worse than Russia's bad areas (largely bc of demographics).

He saw the nice parts of Moscow. There are nice parts in many American cities (but not all).

All of the "Tucker's a simp army" would be terrified to spend a night on the tough streets of most American cities, unarmed.

I'm sure they probably wouldn't feel much different in Moscow either.

However, it's reasonable to assume your chances are better to come out alive in the worst parts of Moscow than in the worst parts of Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, LA, San Fran, St. Louis, New York, Washington… etc…

Beyond that, it's not unreasonable to believe the heavy hand of the law makes a place like Moscow cleaner, safer, w/ less homeless, drug addicts with less petty crime. Seems very plausible Moscow is much better in those respects.

You can debate whether the heavy hand is too heavy or worth it. It's not up for debate that vast swaths of American cities are absolute **** holes unsafe for most that don't live.

This is low IQ stuff from Tucker. Disappointing.

average Russian income is $15,000 per year.

GDP per capita is $12,000.

But those subways though...

And the "family structure" approach to analyzing the Israel-Hamas conflict was bizarre but also another method of projecting equivalence between the two conflicting entities.

Another who completely missed the point.

Is there a contest or something I'm not aware of?
Yes, there is a contest. We are geopolitical foes with vastly different opinions of the world and national interest. We are over here and they are over there but with anything that may happen in the coming months and years, we will be involved. Pray for our leadership.

The central section of Moscow is a nice looking city, especially in the spring. Much more cosmopolitan than most people imagine. It's a big city, though, and like most cities it has its disgusting sections filled with ugly old apartment buildings.

I haven't been there in about 5 years, but can't believe it has changed that much. To say it is nicer than any US city is incredibly preposterous (even considering recent decay the liberals have wrought in our big cities). Tucker seems like he's just playing to the ignorant and gullible.

Moscow is no nicer than Paris, London, Brussels, Antwerp, Berlin, Prague, Budapest.

unless you are a Putin fanboy.

and there are dozens of American cities richer and nicer than Moscow.

I don't know anything about other countries and don't care. I do care about America and it is appalling at the amount of garbage and trash along roads and streets. Makes me sick to drive on a rural road in most places in the U.S. and see the amount of garbage thrown out of vehicles by low lifes that don't have any respect for God's creation. The amount of tax dollars to pick up the filth is tremendous.
Often makes me wonder about what those people's houses look like.......disrespectful morons......"Oh I'm done with my Happy Meal box so ..out the window!"

To Putin's fan boys, and they're many and obvious, Russia seems to be an ideal, almost like a utopia when compared to the worst they want to see in this and any country they don't like.

Why they continue to live here and not there is truly surprising.
