Very likely. Some blame falls on Trump for obvious character and cognitive degredation, but some also falls on the GOP for not running America first candidates that conservatives need (can be different than MAGA).
Like I've said on other threads, the best case scenario is for DeSantis to be bolder vs the federal government and unelected beaurocrats
before the primary season. That would take a significant amount of votes from Trump and unify the GOP both at the top and down ballot.
Unfortunately, he's only got the fame of being a great conservative leader that can navigate the corrupt system, and it's been done in a red friendly state. He has not pushed the envelope vs the federal gov or unelected beaurocrats. We've seen what that looks like over the past several decades and results are not good....
Heck, I'm no Abbott fan because he didn't push the envelope but his latest border push in Shelley Park is winning me over and is the type of actions that DeSantis needs to do to win the Trump vote and make Trump obsolete.
