Dating Apps aren't the real world.

In the real world, young, normal, average people are still meeting up, dating, getting married, having babies.

Just tell your boys to put the ****ing phone down and get involved in activities in the real world with real people. It's really that simple.
Agreed. Both my millennial children met great spouses and have turned out to be outstanding parents. Neither of them ever did a dating app. They met people the old fashioned way - one through friends and the other at work.

Love this. Dating were/are not on my kids radar (or elsewhere). So glad for that. Apps are mostly trash.

The early millennial appears to be the last group that doesn't rely solely on apps. I married someone I'd known for 20+ years. Before that I was swiping like a mad man. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. For a late 20s bro with a little scratch in his pocket, the appeal is great. I'd go travel to other cities and countries and swipe. Had some pretty fun and wild nights overseas as a result. Good times!

I don't worry about my son. He was raised correctly, has a sweet, smart, and somewhat (but not overly) ambitious gf, and they're happy together. It's been hinted that engagement is on the horizon.

My concern is my daughter, who's attractive, athletic, Christian, very ambitious, financially independent, career-oriented, family-oriented, any a lot of other great qualities. But … she won't shut up for a moment and rambles non-stop about her friends and colleagues who run in the same snobby-ass Dallas well-to-do circles. So fricking obnoxious. And, yes, she's a UT grad (undergrad and law).

Does anyone have a son (in his late 20s or early 30s) who's up to the task of possibly taming her (just a little bit)? P.S. - I will be this man's biggest cheerleader. I'm not the issue. Her mother my ex is. The guy will need to practice saying phrases like "stay in your lane," "that's not your business," "I don't recall asking for your advice," and "I have a mom and dad, and we'll spending some of our holidays with them."
No, I love my sons.

Maybe millions of dumb superficial women never marrying and procreating won't be such a bad thing in the long run? Maybe this, combined with white liberals breeding at much lower rates, is how we fix our country?

Mormons will save the country in about 50 years. Polygamy will be back in vouge, but it will be OK, because the crazy sons of *****es will own everything.

Honestly sounds like hell on earth to me. With each passing year I have less and less patience for that type of petty shallow sh**. Once you start losing a friend here and there to cancer or other illnesses and face some of the real struggles of adulthood, tolerance for fake superficial people goes way down.

120,000 matches in a year for Chad vs 192 for an average man.

This goes in line perfectly with how women view 90% of men as unattractive. I don't see how this will work long term. We know marriage rate are plummeting and that divorce is initiated by women 80% of the time.

The fact that the majority of women will be single and childless by the end of the 2030s says everything.

I'm married and have two sons and I immensely worry about their future options all of the time. I know they aren't likely to look like Chad Thunderc**k in large part because they won't be 6'5" even if they have good genetics elsewhere. I won't have to speak to them about this topic for a number of years but frankly I have no idea what I would even say. I don't want to blackpill them immediately but I won't lie to them either.

The internet has given me women the infinite fallacy of choice and destroyed the ability of men to find someone on their level. The end result is that both will end up alone.

The only real option at this point is to put your faith into God and find a woman this way because the modern methods are out completely.
I doubt 192 matches per year is average for the average guy.

The 120k for the fake profile raises the average.

So glad I am happily married. I could lose a few lbs, and so could she. We don't GAF. We have fun together, laugh, share good meals, have a wonderful home and family and I couldn't imagine anything different.

There is absolutely no way I'd want to date in todays world. It's was hard enough for me when I was young, I couldn't imagine doing it now.

I feel like there should be striking data similarities when these concerns came up 10+ years ago about internet porn and its impact on men not having realistic views of women.

Porn isn't helping the situation but I think it's a separate issue.
Definitely is helping. 5 minutes and you save $200 on dinner... $25 on gas... and you don't have to say thank you when you're finished.

Perhaps. However, most boys in the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's kept a stash of girly magazines hidden in a treehouse or in the barn somewhere. We somehow managed to recover and live normal, unscarred lives.

That's a long, looonnngg way off from the stuff kids have instant access to these days. Those magazines might as well have been made by Disney compared to modern pornography.

This. So much this.

Abs are great, but if you have a (mostly flat stomach), women view that as a huge win in a dude, especially once you exit your mid-20s and responsibilities lessen your ability to spend 2+ hours in a gym every day. 40" biceps and a 350 lb bench press are great... if you want to impress other dudes. Most women don't care as long as you can pick her up (if you know what I mean).

Have interests that aren't sports, TV shows, and politics. Run races, read books, travel, and learn how to cook. If you have 2-3 go-to dishes that aren't bacon and eggs, have a physical hobby that shows you're not a dough boy, and can speak basically about the Stahl House, supply-chain efficiency of the Union Army, or how to make parmesan-crusted chicken, you're miles ahead of most dudes in this world. This will also help you with her friends and/or parents. Having basic knowledge of stuff that interests other people goes a long way.

That being said, still be a guy. Know your sports, be a student of history (History of American interventionism in Cuba, anyone?), have a good cologne, and be chivalrous. Note: Being a guy does not mean you don't cry when Old Yeller dies or gag at the Barbie movie. In fact, most women love a guy who is confident enough to wade into the feminine.

Also, stop complaining about women. Stop complaining about pretty much everything. Got a problem? Do something about it. Find a way to be in control or a way to get control of your own life. You won't always win, and you'll hear 'No' a lot more than 'Yes'. Get used to it, and learn to overcome obstacles.

Get a dog. Women love dudes with dogs, especially medium-to-big dogs. Australian Shepherds, border collies, labradors, goldens, Chessies, and the like. Having a dog in public increases your attractiveness and approachability by, like, 1,000%. This backfires if you have an untrained animal or treat it like crap.

All of that is a long way to say what the previous poster said above.

I say this as a guy in the top fraction of a percentage according the "female delusion calculator":

Some guys are dealt a better hand than others.

Sure - there are things like fitness, personality, wisdom, and work ethic which can be developed - but genetic advantages do exist, and if women are fighting over the top few percent guys it's just easier to be in that demo if you won the genetic lottery.

See this with my wife's friend group when we first met. This gaggle of women all holding out for a Dallas neuro surgeon or other equally impress title that they can parade around to everyone else. One got pregnant from some guy she's no longer with and finally settled down with what in the time would have been unattractive country boy. Turns out he's a great guy and they are together.

Most others are still single. They're old, added weight. One went the donor route and had a fatherless son. Their collective group gave them excuses and a barrier of mutual support, but in reality kept them in a prison of their own making. Now they're in their late 40's and their looks are fading and the group has broken up and many are alone. They still get together from time to time but it's sad.
Nobody cares. Work Harder

Nahhhh....most guys can get there from just being smart and putting in the work and not falling prey to the pop culture mind programming that tries to pussify and create beta males.

And that is why women like top men because they resist the programming.

I run into so many good looking woman/hideous guy couples that it honestly gets distracting, lol.

Also, don't use the term "beta male" in real conversations. Few things make a guy look worse. Actual, confident people don't say crap like that, lol. If you talk about how much of an "alpha male" you are or how much you're not a puss, then you're not an alpha male.

We can all agree that a 5'4" guy has less of a chance at the NBA than a 7'2". Especially if they put in equal work.

So why is it contentious to apply the same logic to dating where women have attractions to certain immutable physical attributes?

Bootstrap away - improving one's own position is ALWAYS a good play - but Danny Devito needed to work a different / harder route than George Clooney.

I have a good friend who always says, "If you want women to find you attractive, you can be short or you can be bald. But you can not be both short and bald."

That's stuck with me for years. The fact is that less than 15% of American males are 6'2" or taller. A vast majority fall in the 5'8"-5'11" range. If you fall below that, tough luck. Some of the world's most successful people are short.

The key for short/bald guys is to own it. Don't Ron DeSantis yourself and wear massive lifts that scream of insecurity. Don't complain about how much women don't date short guys. Don't hold out by growing your scraggly, rapist-looking haircut. Embrace your shortcomings (no pun intended) and overcome them.

No, that's always been true - Homecoming King, Prom King, QB, Captain of the Football Team, etc. What women want hasn't changed.

What has changed is that now, they are led to believe that they have a shot because there's an App that tells them, if Chad is desperate enough, and needs to bust a nut badly enough, they do have a shot at a late night booty call and none of Chad's friends will ever find out it happened.

It's literally real life "Jake Ryan, 16 Candles".

In my experience, the height girls like correlates to the height of their father. No clue if this is science backed.

But let's not pretend guys don't have preferences as well. I've heard numerous women complain about guys only liking short girls/big boobs/etc. So the knife can cut both ways.
