I get where you're coming from, but I suspect it's going to be life changing to watch this stuff. Surely one won't just spin it to the Hamas side.

Also, if it is overwhelmingly grotesque and incriminating for Hamas, will parts of it be release in the event that this doesn't track like Israel wants it to?

I would go ahead and do it if simply to get ahead of AI and deep fake tech that will render reality a non-stop questionable affair here in about 2 years.

It's all on display now. It doesn't matter, most muslims in the US (and elsewhere) think it is justified.

Artillery strikes in Gaza over the past hour, and attempts on the ground to get to some hostages claimed.

No, it is not. Israel declares war on Iran and they are fighting on at least three fronts. That seems like a bad idea. Take them apart one by one.

If we're (U.S.) not putting boots/weapons on the ground or air to help Israel, then, yes, it's a very bad idea.

I mean, if Israel can take on every Muslim country that hates them, good for them, but if they can't do it by themselves, they shouldn't.

Everybody seems super-antsy to kick off the ground offensive today. I think the IDF could easily wait another week until they are certain they have done as much as they can to degrade Hamas via air/artillery/special operators before sending in the boots and tracks. Don't forget they need to make sure a potential northern front is secured as well.
It seems part of this is also to degrade the Hamas tunnel defenses

starve them of food and most importantly the electricity and fuel to run the generators which provide oxygen in the tunnel networks..

I wonder what methods are the best to demolish those tunnels? what about putting a Merkava tank above the entrance and having it run it's exhaust at full blast for a few hours with the exhaust pipes extended into the entrances?

there should only be robots and drones entering those Hamas tunnels.

and Israeli special forces dressed up as Hamas terrorists to kill them from up close.

A lot of surveillance/intelligence gathering is going on, I would bet. I am not sure if the cell phone towers are permitting connections there or not. I am guessing some are, in addition to handheld radio communications the Israeli's are no doubt snooping on.

The pre-emotive demands for a 'ceasefire' are comical and indicative of the Hamas team's desperation, imho. The IDF has used very little field artillery on Gaza as yet.

This is a very rare instance of a simple conflict to follow; one side is simply evil. Long thread, worth clicking;

It's almost passe to think of Israel being horrified by the Munich Olympics massacre and creating hit teams to take out the PLO murderers in 1973.

that was for ELEVEN citizens.

I think Hamas may be legitimately depleted in terms of their rocket ability right now. Hezbollah is a completely different story. Hezbollah has far more advanced weapons and would likely cause a lot of Israeli casualties if that front got hot.
Correct analysis

which is why the Israeli government has been evacuating the border communities on the northern front away from the "Blue Line"

because they are getting ready if Hizbullah tries to invade into israel and do the same thing Hamas just did

I haven't followed this thread in a while, but does anyone know if the women in the IDF will be on the front lines when Israel goes into Gaza?

I ask because I know they're required to serve like the men, and they can always be seen in social media clips wearing their uniforms, without or without a weapon.
Good question

there are IDF female fighters in actual combat units in the "Caracal" and the "Lions of Judah" brigades but those are stationed near the Jordan border to combat cross-border smuggling.

they won't be deployed to Gaza.

on the other hand, Hamas terrorists really don't like fighting and dying at the hands of women.

Just the description is gut wrenching. It makes me sick to think about these poor adults, and especially children, afraid and suffering in anquish in their last moments.

Hamas will be put down once and for all because it has to be. The civilized world cannot tolerate these inhuman barbarians. They cannot be put in prison. They cannot be allowed to hide or to escape. Death is the only solution to these dispicable vermin. Unfortunately in war, innocent civilians will die, but Hamas has dictated the terms of engagement and now more will have to suffer so their scourge can be eradicated.

And, yet, the USA (and most of the rest of the world plus the media) continue to push for a delay / pause in full-scale ground invasion...

Israel waited too long. After the narrative started to change and the initial atrocities committed by Hamas began to fade into the 'last week' and 'two weeks ago' categories it became predictable that no full-scale ground invasion would take place.

I've predicted for over a week now that only minor ground incursions might take place, but nothing close to the 'full-scale invasion' that's been plastered all over the news. I guess we'll just continue to wait and see...

Unfortunately, if no full-scale ground invasion takes place, we'll be right back here in 5 years (or less) with another senseless terrorist tragedy inflicted upon the Israeli people.

That's cool that they're in combat units. I'd like to think that if they want to be on the front lines when the invasion happen they should be allowed to. I'm sure they're more than capable to killing terrorists.

I only disagree that it makes it very easy for female IDF soldiers to be kidnapped by Hamas in a dense urban war- and that fate is worse than death.

It may even make Hamas fight harder if they know they are fighting women rather than men.

I get where you're coming from, and that is something worse than death, but if being harmed in a way that makes people uncomfortable is a concern then they (only those concerned about that) shouldn't be in the military.

The Israeli government on Monday screened for 200 members of the foreign press some 43 minutes of harrowing scenes of murder, torture and decapitation from Hamas's October 7 onslaught on southern Israel, in which over 1,400 people were killed, including raw videos from the terrorists' bodycams.

The government said it had decided to show journalists part of its collected documentation in order to dispel what a spokesperson characterized as:

"a Holocaust-denial-like phenomenon happening in real-time," as doubts have been raised around the world about some of the most horrific of Hamas's atrocities.

Journalists were not permitted to record the screening, which took place on a closed military base.

Hope you are wrong but I'm starting to agree with this. This is moving away from a kinetic engagement to a PR War fought in the media. Israel has little chance of winning the latter.

If the strategy of sharing the Hamas raw footage with the media today (or already happened) doesn't work then nothing will work. At that point, you cut your losses and destroy Gaza and let the chips fall where they may. Just not sure if they are going to do it at this point outside of these periodic air sorties.
