Yep. Israeli officials repeatedly using words like obliterate, destroy, eliminate, etc. indicate a rage that will not be satisfied until Hamas is reduced to a grease spot on the Gaza strip. Moreover, I am confident that Iran and Hezbollah will get smacked if they choose to participate.

Overall agree, though they may have thought they were justified, our early US folks were sort of brutal as well in their treatment of Indians.

They almost immediately began attacking Israel to try to take away their land. The Israelis have won the repeated battles and wars that have brought us to today. The "Palestinians" have been offered all manner of solutions to the dispute, including their own country and the talks have stumbled over the right of Israel to exist. As of this time, there is no credible agency with which Israel can negotiate a lasting and durable peace. Nobody in the Gaza strip is willing to coexist with Israel or even to accept their right to exist, so there is nothing for Israel to negotiate with. This war is simply a continuation of an existential struggle for the Israelis, and as with all the others, it was started by the Palestinians and their various puppet masters.


Your rationale is like saying the Native Americans should have been happy with their new desert locales and do not serve any of the incredible reparations / govt assistance they receive to this day.

After WWII, Israel was given the prime real estate and it continues to piss off the Palestinians and Muslims overall.
Your effort to compare political movements and actions from the mid-1800s to modern events is ridiculous. If the Cherokee Nation decided today that the US had no right to exist and that they were going to take up arms against the US, of course they would be in the wrong. Did the US give them a bad deal in the 1800s? Sure. I won't argue that. And they have every right to push that grievance and ask to be compensated if they believe they deserve it.

But the first step in any process of negotiating peace is that both sides have to accept the right of the other side to continue to exist and live in peace. The Palestinians currently will not accept that Israel has a right to exist and live in peace. So what is there for Israel to negotiate with if the other side's only acceptable outcome is the death of every jew?

It's only a ridiculous comparison because you want to nuance it with what you think the Indians would want and what you think most Palestinians want and what you ignore that some Jews want.

If they had an opinion, I would think most indigenous tribes would have been fine with "eradicating" the presence of white colonists.

They are many Jews who support the eradication of all Muslims.

Taking the positions of Hamas and Hezbollah and applying that to all Palestinians is what is ridiculous.

Got the receipts for that? If you are talking about Israel, a large portion of the in-good-standing and voting population are Muslim. There are a-hole Jews just like there are a-hole any other ethnic group, but Israeli Jews are unique in that their direct neighbors would rather blow up their kids to kill them than to admit that Israel has a right to exist.

The Palestinian state has been offered 100% of what they wanted in the past with the 1 caveat that they had to drop the part of their charter which calls for the absolute destruction of Israel and they refused to accept it.

Indians were brutal to the first settlers at Jamestown. They sieged it in an effort to starve them all to death (and nearly succeeded), then killed John Ratcliffe by tying him to a stake, and flaying him alive and throwing his flesh into a fire while he watched. They were brutal from day one.

The indians deserved what they got. Just like the Palestinians deserve what they are about to get.

You do understand that the Palestinians ELECTED Hamas to run Gaza since they won a majority back in '06, right? They aren't just some crazy terrorist outfit, they are the dominant political party in the territory. Obviously a majority of Palestinians don't have a problem with them.
