When will they realize they can design and sell the unassembled new cars as modular kits? The customer can assemble the vehicles and skip the union labor cost. I'm positive there would be a market if the kit is half the cost of fully assembled.

The manufacturers will have to offshore, which means loss of jobs.
Go tour the Toyota plant in San Antonio (Oh wait , they quit allowing tours during COVID and have yet to resume). Jobs that decades ago were done by 6 guys are now done by two guys and a machine because it goes faster and the QC is better.
