Within the last year, we have purchased the following:

88 F250 (7.3 diesel) - middle kid earned the money to buy at $1800
89 F150 (inline 6, 4x4, manual) - purchased for $4k, have put maybe another $1k into it. Perfect little truck. Will be selling it once the rear diff and axle bearings are serviced.
95 K2500 - daughter purchased for $2,500. Cool truck with a rear dualy axle swapped from the original single. Runs but not road worthy, needs all new tires and minor maintenance. Nothing a weekend can't cover.
96 F250 - Replacing the 89 F150. $3.5k, flatbed. Oldest kid is going to use it for his welding rig. This one needs some work done as it will be required to go further than the others but nothing about $2k can't cover.

Yes, they have broken down and needed quick repairs to get home but it's a heck of a lot cheaper than trying to buy new vehicles. Plus, the insurance is low for the teenage drivers. Liability only due to age.

I highly suggest this option for anyone needing a vehicle to just get around. New car prices do not match the value you are getting. Same tech and power as 3-4 yrs ago but more expensive.

They don't have the space in the back like a suburban.

About 22 cu ft less with all seats up. But with 3rd row down, both vehicles are reported to have the same rear cargo space.

We would need the seats up is the problem.

The dealers are not budging much on prices.

Am I reading this correctly the Corn Pop is going to join n the picket line???

Why is it that Dems can't keep their hands off of the auto industry?

Why is it that the Dems voted $36billion to their retirement fund/
I mean a few million would have been a lot of unequal special treatment.
But $36,000,000,000? Really?
Why should anybody that is not in the UAW ever vote for another Dem?
Oh, that's right, most don't pay any tax - and have their own special treats.

plenty of stuff left to automate, and this will shift the roi to justifiable levels

The two-shift operation also will allow the Mack team to focus its attention on improving the operational performance and throughput at the plant in the event that a change in the regulations or marketplace allows for an increase in volume,"
